Lord Yabushige is my favorite character in this entire series. He's clearly intelligent enough to be a threat and/or valuable ally in his own right, but always much more expressive than the other characters. He's a walking comedic relief that always somehow manages to be a critical character when it matters most, and he always seems so damn tired of it.

Ishido is being outmaneuvered and he is angry. Angry for not seeing the trap, angry for his massive loss of face, angry because he is being made to look weak and stupid in front of everyone. Brilliant series and Mariko is just perfect.
@brianpeck40359 ай бұрын
I think Ishido is more worried about any delay in closing with his enemy on his ground of choice. I think he's worried about losing his grip on Toranaga and on losing his own head.

@@Snipsey01 *Why Are Poisoned Pawns Important?* _Being aware of the concept of a poisoned pawn can protect you from a lot of trouble. If you spot a pawn hanging, it is always a good idea to double-check to see if it is poisoned. Not only that, but you can also use a poisoned pawn to set a trap for your opponents._ _Additionally, there are quite a few openings with a poisoned pawn variation, like the London System, the Trompowsky Attack, and the Sicilian Najdorf. Some of these variations have a lot of theory related to them, and that is why it is easy to find yourself in an unfortunate position if you play them without knowing the opening theory or book moves._ You're probably a fish. Maybe you want to read some chess books or join a club. Never too late to learn. In any case, it was my pleasure to school you. Good luck.

Toranaga plan to destroy Ishido politically by sending Mariko to her death in Ishido Castle. From Mariko words we know that her Akechi klan is honoured by others samurai clan in japan.

Mariko wanted to die her dilema like the real woman Gracia she is based on was that she was a christian and she also believed killing herself would consign her to hell. But the japanese part of herself felt burdened by the dishonor of her father and family. Having a crappy husband and unthankful son didn't help either. I think Toranga was killing 2 birds with one stone. Using her as trap and stalemate as well as giving her a chance for the honorable end she wanted.

Ishido's, way of thinking is...he has the Regents and other Allies on his side, so he has the advantage against Toranago, but as Madame Gin stated fate is like a sword only useful to those who know how to wield it... Sun Tzu, said if you know yourself and you know your ememies..in a thousand battles you will not be defeated....In my opinion, Ishido, didn't do his homework properly...

Mariko just secured the winning position for her lord without having to use an army. That is the art of war.
