Barbell rows are one of the best excercise. It may or may not work for you depending on various factors. Your form, the way hand position on the bar, the angle at which you do etc. Just because an excercise doesn't work for one person doesn't mean it's a bad excercise. Nothing in this world works 100% perfectly.
