Filmed in 1930, this film shows the journey to Srinagar and its famous Dal Lake and Shalimar Gardens along with other sites.

With great joy and nostalgy I have watched the 1930 film. I lived both in Rawalpindi for a short time and then in Srinagar during 1967 when I was 17 years old. I also went by road from Pindi to Srinagar 30 years later. I will never forget Kashmiris and Srinagar's beautiful surroundings shown in the film. In 2010 I visited Delhi, but obviously could not make it up to Srinagar. As an old Kashmirian told me, "the 60s were good days." I loved the music!

Very very old film,cascading falls over Jhelum river,,beautiful mountains,skilled men working with woods,great overlook over Srinagar. Mountain top temple looks grand. Flat boats are brilliant then,Glorious wooden bridges then,man made,never seen anything like this. 1930’s what a glorious time that must have been. Would be nice to go this route and see now. Man. Travel. Filming. Luxury filled,huh.Then.

I am not sayin of my own Some other old people also said me this that no one forced them They ran away during night Becoz one of there leaders had advised them to do this .getting all the kashmiri pandits out from kashmir and killing the remaining ones that were the muslims....as they are doing nowadays...but eventually their plan failled becoz of our brothers protecting us.... Listen to the interview of satiyapaal malik after removal of article 370 He clearly says that i was given freedom to kill who so ever tries to revolt or throw stone But there happened no kind of revolt or stone palleting For this interview he was suspended!!! One more thing... If there would have been no one to take weapon in his hands then kashmir would have been made same like rest of india.....hindu dominant And they had killed thousands of kashmiri muslims

I am amazed to see this 90 years old video how big & large was srinagar Kashmir called the venice of east serene & beautiful even those days when so called Hary Singh ruled & destroyed Kashmiries of which some 100 Thousand migrated to Pakistan Punjab then called north India. Everyone here is complaining about muslims. We muslims lived here since beginning and it was peaceful. We were an independent country. Kashmir's harmony was destroyed right after 1947 when India occupied it illegally. On the top of that kashmir was destroyed by the 3 nuclear power countries surrounding it. India, Pakistan and China, all three countries played politics, all three countries took a piece of kashmir's land. India took Kashmir valley, ladakh and Jummu, Pakistan took West kashmir and gilgit baltistan, China took Askai Chin. From funding terrorism to raping and killing civilians​, everyone has it's role.
