While the initiative is immensely commendable, the concert exceedingly well done, and all the artists' performances a melodious display of talent, I agree with Mushtaq sahib's observation. It serves us no purpose to appropriate politically motivated linguistic traps from outside of us. We have our ethos of mile-chhar and love for all fellow beings. 'Kashmiriyat' does not express it. Kindly remember words matter, phrases matter, slogans matter.

I loved Sufiyan’s Roshe Wala as it reminded of all the brothers and sisters we lost to the senseless wars, that can never come back from the graves. Everything might be good, but using the word "Kashmiriyat" to signify our culture is the most distasteful and vulgarity towards the people of Kashmir; not only because this ideology was invented to to extend Indian Hindutva (clad in secularism) to Kashmir. Kashmiriyat, a parallel of Punjabiyat doesn[t have an equivalent in our language-Kashmiri. You just cut the nose of this Online Concert by this linguistic massacre!
