The impact would probably kill a driver but judging by the setting of Rocket League and looking at the technology in the game like Nitro you can get from driving over panels, soccer balls that can lock onto goals like missiles as seen in the Heatseeker gamemode, and soccer balls that explode when touching the inside of the goal so its also safe to say that these cars do have drivers. Lemme explain: It's also safe to say that they have drivers in them because when technology like I just listed exists in the Rocket League world then who's to say that these cars aren't remote controlled or have a way to keep a driver safe from goal explosions, demolitions (which can happen at lightspeeds when traveling into another car), and large falls. The argument can go either way when you really think about it.
