I've been setting up another instance with some vms as fixed infrastructure and have been fighting the black screen with kasmvnc. All that being said I just updated to the new release. You guys have nailed it again, thank you!

A question about custom images, couldn't I just create a new image from the existing Ubuntu image (as example) and add additional programs directly in the Docker configuration window that pops up before deploying the Workspace? That seems a bit "easier" to me than removing sudo manually by hand afterwards. And I guess they would also auto-update then?

Unfortunately, no. This mechanism uses docker commit. The "changes" section where you use DOCKERFILE syntax only supports a handful of commands. RUN is not one of them. You can review the docker commit documentation for details. So your options are to do something like what is show in the example, or build the image via command line

@@KasmWorkspaces Ah, makes sense then. Will there maybe be a written guide on how to exactly do the steps with the Ubuntu Focal image shown in the video? Cause that would be the most useful to me, and the Wiki so far doesn't state how to remove sudo and it's remaining files.

Can Kasm be used to start headless apps, and can it work with Kubernetes?

Kasm isn't really focused on running headless apps, but you can do it. Search "General Docker Images" in our docs. At this time there is no supported method of running Kasm in Kubernetes. Hopefully in the future.
