The modern or pirc was a deadly weapon in the 80s and Seirawan did very well with it until his line was refuted and then the modern became a punching bag opening that everyone could crush just advancing the h pawn. Enter Kaspa and he wins game after game versus high rated players using the modern. The chess algorithm could only conclude that cheating was involved.😂😂😂😂

Perhaps the Modern Defense has been refuted but not the Pirc which Magnus and other GM's still play. On KZbin and Chessable, National Master Robert Ramirez plays the Pirc and has a course on Chessable. Saying the Pirc has been refuted is akin to saying the King's Indian Defense has been refuted. There are many similarities between the Pirc and KID.
