A beautiful game indeed. Great commentary. Interesting mention of Kasparov relying on his intuition at certain points. And seeing that Kasparov himself is guilty of making mistakes gives us mere mortals some consolation as well as motivation.

So true. The last chess champ that played without computers. Fisher is also worth mentioning because he played without a team behind him. Spasky had several GM's helping him. Back in the days most chess champs were self made. Their games were selfmade. From Paul Morphy, Wilhelm Steinitz, Emanuel Lasker, Capablanca and Alekhine they all made chess an art of their own. Karpow and Kasparov are the last in the list of human super chess players. One could add Korchnoi and Tal.

That was a really savage attack! I remember watching a brief video some time ago with Kasparov explaining the moves, but it was too fast for me to follow. This was the first time I'd ever seen the full game though. Excellent explanation. Thanks for posting.

But with no chess engine you wouldn't be able to make this video and nearly all viewers of this channel wouldn't be able to appreciate the brilliance of these geniuses.

I once analyzed a correspondence move for 14 days, sent the card and analyzed again, noticing that I missed a counter sac but miraculously, I still had mate to follow. Now stockfish solves the line as I move pieces.

This game makes me realize I could never, ever, be a high level chess player. At least no one who wins, and you can’t even get there without winning.

The last gractal attempt among humans was a sight to see as well. It was more of a shredding than a victory.

A reasonable conclusion: Stockfish and the like have overtaken human analysis which probably means that Kasparov, having only human resources rather than any recourse to AI, was then and always will be the GOAT.

You miss the days before computers? Well, I miss the days before the invention of cars, and medicine, and motors, and electricity, and plumbing, and education, and writing, and language, and fire. Those were the days!

Yes it would be if it wasn't blacks turn to move , but he can play Kf8 so that Qxg7 isn't immediate mate , although mate is not far off

No, because it's black to move and it can escape to f8 without an immediate mate.
