You are so right. Before computers, chess players invented moves. Today Grand Masters test moves with computers. And the computer "invents" the best move. Chess has gone from almost being an art to being a fight between two people and their ability to remember the chess moves their computer has calculated. Chess is still an amazing game but another kind of game compared to the games of Kasparov, Fisher, Morphy, Capablanca, Korchnoi, Karpov, Larsen, Tal. Without computers I doubt that now a day Grand Masters would be able to fight the before mentioned players

Best commentary I've seen from a professional chess match. I'm a 1K player and even I was still following along and understanding the threats and implications of the moves they made thanks to how well the Danya explained everything. And I love the energy and excitement as well. We need more of this!

Amazing that at his age and with all his other pursuits, Kasparov in a blitz can still hold his own, even win, vs Nakamura, one of the very best blitz players in the world, who in his own right in classical chess and blitz an elite player and a force to be reckoned with.

I am not do sure about that. I know we had Dan's commentary helping us, but even without it, that wasnt a difficult thing to see. I mean shouldn't Hikaru be able to defend that Endgame, if he is such a legend as you are speaking about him.

Not only hold ground, he can beat anyone. The man have a winning record against Naka on BLITZ (that's freaking crazy). Also, 4 games agains Magnus, 2 wins, 2 draws (Magnus could never beat him). Kaspa's age make him a little slower, but he looks to still know chess better than anyone. Goat.

@@Technicalideabro Either Kasparovs B or F pawn will be queen eventually. If you listen to the commentary (by Daniel Naroditsky, he has amazing youtube content) he keeps talking about the pass pawns. Hikaru recognised theres no way for him to stop the B pawn without giving up his bishop. Then the F pawn will be very difficult to stop. Even if both players queen, Kasparov is still up a bishop and will win eventually.

Well, it is chess. It is not like a physical sport where players decline a lot with age. Chess is a lot more forgiving than physical sports for older players to keep playing and continue to be competitive even against younger players. Especially in a situation like this where it is just one game. It is not like he is being mentally exhausted in a big tournament type setting, that is where being older can take its toll.
