More like Kasparov knew he wouldn't be in the top few so he thought he'd play flashy and act like he was just having fun. Unsurprisingly he got roasted and ended up second last, his only win was very fortunate because someone blundered horribly.
@SVisionary
@SVisionary 6 жыл бұрын
I have to disagree Ranials. He fumbled the end game on at least 3 separate occasions where he was clearly winning. His end game was rarely sharp - however, he absolutely dominated most of the middle game period with extremely strong positions.

Black square bishop to d3 looks like a good opportunity to swap off material for Kosteniuk right around the 3:27 mark..It would put him up the exchange but Kasperov would have more variety in his remaining pieces....So two rooks and a knight for Kosteniuk vs a rook,knight and bishop for Kasperov. Amazing kinetic game that descended into comedy.

Your videos are excellent 👌🏻 So if white put the queen in front of the king that would’ve been a big mistake ,as the only result for white is to go for the draw? White was putting a lot of pressure from black to make a mistake at the last minute , if the black rook took the white pawn , night moves and puts him in check and Controls ndgame ?game? ....I’m a low player But I think my analysis is right

6:39, queen c6 check, then capturing knight, black can't retake with queen as he'd trade queens and lose the game, and if white retakes with pawn then rook f6 or ideas of checking with the rook and queen onto a check mate, if rook f6, and pawn moves forward then rook g6 with a tempo on the queen (maybe even a pin if king is wrongly placed) if not pinned, white would want to check with its queen, but after king h7, the white pass pawn is gone, as no move can save it.

Somehow I played Kasparov chess computers long before the iron curtain was lifted. The impression I had of him and things Russian were of a darkish type. I was not hindered by any knowledge of course. Now that I know a tiny bit more, it seems to me a great deal of the rest of the world is more at fault, but I now like individuals ~ especially where they manage to slightly develop in a bit more of an intelligent direction
