Great work but sooner or later mosfet or diode will fail. You need to add snubber circuit which is R and C in series to decrease spikes on mosfet and diode. Then ringing will be much smaller.

That must be a Chinese 19V, because it was 17.9V! 😀 A bit like their 3.5Ah batteries which are actually 1.2 Also the load is the 2 bulbs, not "provided by the energy stored in the capacitors"!

a small little detail...the mosfet u show on the diagram is wrong...with the simbol i could think its P channel and the IRFZ44 is an N channel one...it could probably confuze someone who actually looks at the thing :D

A green/blue core may be a better choice for 125 kHz switching frequency, due to his lower loses.

@ Kasyan TV Your content is great, but what is the use since you don't provide a schematic file in pdf or gerber file (factory pcb print) to print it on cooper clad, we need the pcb lines schematic lines on a A4 size paper, to print on Toner transfer paper .

The output power must equal the input power. In this case, input power is 12*1=12w. But the output must equal the input power. So you can get a higher ampere by reducing the volts efficiently.

Thank you for the great work. I have a note about the mosfet, it need a resistor (10Kohm) between the gate of the mosfet and the ground to avoid any suspicious ON and OFF of the mosfet

Great video. So how would you scale this up. What if you wanted 120vdc or even 400vdc. Just larger mosfet and chokes? Capacitor? What is the relationship between them.

it is a general rule that if you want more than twice the input voltage boost converter wont cut it and you need a transformer

Ganesh Randhir use inductor of thiner wire with more no of turns. It increases output voltage.

UC3842 is a current mode controller, it means you'll have a steady current instead of steady voltage !

R5 is a fuse. Its 0ohm. Dont need it.

i would recommend using normal ferite transformer cores for the inductor, because most of the toroidal inductors are actually compressed iron dust which makes them unsuitable for high frequency (above 5khz) applications like this

Looks like R5 is only a fuse cause 7. Pin of the ic is positive voltage supply pin
