Hot take I think the show heavily implies they’re both equals The show makes it clear that the two aren’t good at bending in the first season they’re definitely adequate but Azula is the firebending prodigy and Aang is the waterbending prodigy however both Katara and Zuko have something in common they’re both outrageously stubborn and work harder than anyone if you notice in the crossroads of destiny the two battle each with no advantages and they can’t seem to beat the other yet as season three roles around Katara learns bloodbending and perfects her technique while Zuko does the same learning from the dragons and redirecting lighting point is I think they’re about as equal as it gets that being said Zuko is a more dangerous opponent considering he’s also a ninja

Power is to Zuko. Boost from SC is much greater compared to the boost for FM. Intelligence is also to Zuko. I don't get why intelligence in these videos goes to someone like Katara instead. Zuko being able to consistently track Aang across the world, as well as track his uncle when he was captured by EK soldiers, breaking into that fortress to save Aang and using his damaged ship engine as a smoke mask against Admiral Zhao. All of these show more intelligence than Katara ever has. Battle IQ should also be a tie, given Katara is mostly just overpowering opponents in her battle and while she is certainly capable of smart/creative thinking, its not something she uses any more than Zuko does. If bloodbending isn't allowed, Zuko handily wins. If it is, then Zuko ofc gets quickly subdued

I’m sorry did you see the fight she didn’t one shot azula she trapped azula with ice after azula straight up outspeed and grabs her like here’s how the actual fight went, katara checks Zuko and runs away azula goes up high uses fire and katara is still ducking and hiding, azula charges up lightning and katara runs to another pillar just before she strikes the pillar with lightning, katara uses water and checks to see what she did just for katara to see nothing as azula ended up behind her katara runs away being like fuck this azula catches so and grabs her (despite katara being ahead at first meaning azulas is way faster) and at that moment katara brings up water covering herself and azula escapes it because she’s the water bender and freezes it and the whole time azula ain’t harmed in anyway she’s still looking around no damage at all katara didn’t even fight remake she just showed decent battle iq the whole time katara was running and was showed flat out terrified of azulas flames the same flames Zuko negates and parries multiple times and straight up taunts her, like idk what you mean Zuko gets nothing katara was barely able to dodge the flames alone Zuko was doing that easily at one point we see Zuko should actually scale above azula considering Zuko was shown negating 2 of azulas attacks and even sends azula flying with his own attack

Ozai literally pounded Aang at the beginning of the fight with just his firebending from Sozins comet, Aang did win but if the Fire Lord stood a big threat to the avatar with Sozins comet imagine Katara, she would be dead meat or burned meat by facing Zuko, her bloodbending also poses a big threat but Zuko can manage getting into close range, iq also goes to Zuko from all he learned from Iroh, people who say Katara would easily win do not understand the series

People saying Katara wins with Bloodbending need to take a few things in consideration. 1. Katara has only blood bent 2 times in the show and she hasn't been shown to have great range with it. She'd be better off using her moon amped waterbending. 2. Zuko post dragon dance is at least comparible to Jeong Jeong as a bender and his fire power under the comet gives him insane range and destructive capacity I'm not saying Zuko would win 100% but it's definitely a closer fight than people think.

Katara slams even without bloodbending, people say sozins comet is more powerful but it’s not- just because it comes every 100 years doesn’t make it any stronger, katara in the full moon would easily kill zuko she has more abilities and she has the power to freeze his entire body, and then he can do NOTHING like azula. Honestly I think there a slight edge for zuko WITHOUT bloodbending. And the full moon for waterbenders and comet for firebenders are equal, if not I think sozins comet. Sozins comet has the power of 100 sun's and it says that in the show. And if freezing his entire body is the only thing you got then that's not really a solid point. Breath of fire remember? Zuko draws his from all elements with Katara only 1 which was earth. And why do you think it would be easy for katara? It definitely wouldn't.

Actually it is said sozin's comet grands firebenders the power of 100 suns. Still what good is powerful bending if you cant control it? If Zuko tried to use firebending while being bloodbended he would propably burn himself. It's like that fire bending master had told aang, a rock on its own cant hurt anyone, but fire is alive. Katara slams and she takes REACTION SPEED cause she could react to Comet powered azula lighting and he couldn’t he tried to get there and redirect but wasn’t fast enough but katara bended the water up before azula shot her lighting being faster than both of them in reaction speed.

I wouldn’t say that about reaction speed she never actually dodged it she was already hiding and was already kind of running as azula was powering it Zuko in the same fight earlier intercepted azulas lightning after she released it and it wasn’t even aimed for him azula had used the lightning away from Zuko and Zuko reacted to it and blocked it with his body before it reached katara and Zuko wasn’t really on hairs as just before he was taunting her like oh what’s the matter no lightning his reaction is like oh shit

Katara soloes Azula without bloodbending as battle iq goes to katara and that was displayed in the agni kai battle as she came up with a smart battle plam to take down azula in such short notice. I think katara can handle Zuko.

Zuko is stronger, he got struck by Azula's Sozin lightning, not even Avatar State Aang could have survived that without Katara's healing water. Zuko also beat Azula in a 1v1, Katara beat Azula when she was tired, and low on energy. Zuko's most powerful state during Sozin's comet would beat Katara's most powerful during the full moon.

Naw how you gonna say Katara has good reaction time when she literally STOOD THERE as Azula shot lighting at her, and Zuko had to have insane reaction time to read the direction the lighting was going and get in the way of it. Homie was faster than the speed of lightning while Katara stood there and was going to get hit. Agni-Kai woulda finished with Zuko as the victor if Katara coulda just dodged.

Katara would defeat him. Bloodbending is too poweful. Plus Katara mastered water so fast (faster than a normal person; she was considered a genius talent in the North Water Tribe). It only took her a few weeks to become as strong as Zuko (I consider their first fight to be a tie) and she kept practicing and practicing. Plus she defeated Azula when Zuko couldn't. Zuko was never consider as a good or bad talent. So I'd say he was probably average; or maybe a bit better than average. That got better under Iroh's guidence; but Katara also had very rare, amazing and powerful techiques. In a bending fight, Katara has a higher chance of winning.
