One of the most melancolic track they've ever made....so far.My favorite of this album. I hope they will be track with such emotions in the new album. Because i'v listened to three songs at this day: buildings,lethean(the best of three in my opinion) and dead letters....and...i don't know,it's different.

i think "the longest year" is actually the BEST piece of music they ever created and that comes from a fan since the legendary "dance of december souls". typical unique katatonia atmosphere, mixed with much more dynamic songwriting and really great instrumentation! i listened to this song and this album for weeks until my girlfriend yelled at me. looking forward to katatonias august release!

To all out there in the dark, don't give in nor give up. I lost count of these longest years. And to be fair, this one was almost the worst, and I can only imagine the one that will totally brake me. But the thing about these longest and horrible years, is that they never last forever, one day something huge and great will come to those suffering, and this will taste as the best thing in life. As I always say, we fall to lift ourselves to a much higher level. And we brake, to fix all broken pieces behind. After the downhill, we go up with a much bigger pace than without that dipp. Just hang on for the lift, no matter how tough it gets, just hang on like a soldier of your own life, and never give up nor give in!
