It wouldn’t be a Finnish lesson without all of the lovely exceptions 😌 Thank you so so so much again for your help. I feel that I will be able to communicate in Finnish in the next three or two years and that wouldn’t have been possible without you ❤❤❤

I learned about this before my 2022 trip and used rehellisesti in conversation and my cousin was flabbergasted - I was wondering from his reaction whether I had used it wrong in a funny way 😂 Little tips like this are great, they're like power multipliers for vocabulary. Thanks for another great video!

So useful! Your videos are fantastic, thank you! I especially find useful these videos where you explain common patterns, or prefixes and suffixes in Finnish words. I feel like I learn so many words at once when I learn those things! The "epä" video was great too. More of these kinds of videos would be great!

Thanks for the video. I've got one question. You translated tuoksu with "smelled", but shouldn't it rather be "smells"? Or is this again one of those puhekieli things, where you just "forget" some letters? 😂
@KatChatsFinnish11 ай бұрын
"tuoksu" that I used is the past tense of "tuoksua" = smell, but you are right the kirjakieli version would be "tuoksui". The present tense would be "tuoksuu" - so it's a very small difference of one U!

Hi Kat, I've been trying to learn Finnish for years now. The problem I have is that I cannot roll my Rs! I have tried all sorts. Does it matter, if I speak Finnish words with the English 'R' pronunciation? Will natives still understand me? Thank you.
@KatChatsFinnish11 ай бұрын
Yes, you'll have a strong accent but people should 100% understand you! :)
