Kate Bingaman-Burt : Fearless Illustrator : PDXtalks

Kate is an illustrator, educator and collector whose work focuses on the things we buy and the emotions we attach to our stuff. A professor of Graphic Design at PSU, she is a frequent public speaker, including delivering a TedXPortland talk in 2013. Her first book, Obsessive Consumption: What Did You Buy Today?was published by Princeton Architectural Press in 2010. She promises colorful visuals, if not confetti, as she recounts her path from wanting to be a morning TV personality to teaching to drawing until her hands cramp.
