I realise it is very hard taking care of someone who is disabled but Kate has a good income and has received help but when you have to give up your job and your life to take care of someone you love we can't go write a book and go on tv and speak about it everyday is the same no one even gives a damn

@LJ-ze6ro
@LJ-ze6ro Жыл бұрын
She has alot of help and ghats why she is able to juggle everything as hard as it is still but not many can still have that little freedom to do the things they love still..to be able to recoop and restart again ..yes carers come in to help but they go when you have nobody to rely on to stay with that person while you yourself do what Kate is able to then it's a huge difference. .even close family who are not seen everyday having to explain what they like and what to give and so on for some they think it's a case of coming to just sit and make sure they are ok and have no idea of the changing the feeding and so on and so you still are the sole carer because there isn't that second person who knows everything as I did. Accept my sister but when she was working then others had no idea even when told the first time of what to do and how to change our dad other than come and keep an eye on him. So yes makes a huge difference when you have those around you like kate has.

Exactly 👏👏 my sister and I our lives have halted, our life is my elderly dad who has no mobility anymore and needs 24/7 care and we get on with it, maybe I should write a book or two, oh wait, I don’t have time to scratch my a@s let alone look at a book cover, she went on holidays etc clearly got lots of rest, however poor Derek passed away, his suffering is now over, I hope he is at peace

I recently lost my mom after being her caregiver for four years. Among all the other aspects of grief, I was not prepared for the challenges associated with coming down from such a prolonged period of hyper vigilance, and lacking my own sense of purpose after being so busy with her for so long. Hard to imagine doing things for myself now without feeling guilty or like something is wrong.

I looked after my husband for four years on my own, but luckily i was retired..very difficult at times because you have to do absolutely everything and it's difficult when you are older and you have to conserve energy so housework is left because you can't do everything. It's been eight months since he passed, beside me. This time after seeing others pass by the time you get to your late sixties, it hit me like a brick and i've been on my i -pad for all that time, it helps take your mind off everything and soon I'll get back to normal. It's hard to care for yourself, when you've cared for others.

It sucks beyond belief that poor people and people with little support have to struggle alone with no one to tell them how well they’re doing, but it’s not Kate’s fault. If anything, she is shining a light on the caring community out there. If you had her platform, money and contacts, you would use them, the same as she does. It’s not her fault she’s privileged, and it doesn’t mean she’s not suffering.
@melgrant7404
@melgrant7404 Жыл бұрын
But people who are struggling don't want to know about her wealth and contacts and team of professional carers. In that respect she is actually shining a light on how her wealth separates her from other carers. The fact remains that people find her annoying because they are skint. That will always be the rub.

You don't need a medal to recognise the importance of what you do. Any one who cares for loved ones knows this. Your daughter and family know what you do and that's what counts xx Kate only got an award on the back of being a celebrity .celebs are the only ones that seem to count in this day and age. I care for my elderly father unpaid but it comes obviously from love and devotion however hard it is. Take a pride in doing a very important job that is appreciated by your loved ones which is what really counts xx.

It's such a flawed system. I think even if you have carers coming in and you can afford the whole package, the emotional toll can be unbearable at times. But you're very right, those people are isolated and have very little support or funding and constantly being forced to fight to be a part of society. Getting out of the house can seem impossible for days or weeks. Those people that are left alone and often get very unwell. Personal experience. But I still think it's tough, when someone you love is suffering, whether you have money or not. Either situation is tragic because of the emotional challenges. The people without these resources are VERY resilient.

Surely you love your husband unconditionally. Many people died through Covid and have not been given the help that Kate has!!. She knew the pitfalls and has received much help through the media with a new car when it got stolen and so much more. She always manages to make it to events with a new wardrobe, sadly perhaps her husband has been used as a cash cow. Sorry to be blunt she is not the only one and lots of people receive NO help whatsoever.

Please can I have paid carers and an MBE and support from Elton John and the 02, for looking after my terminally ill husband who used to play and sing in bands. Doing all of this whilst working as a nurse for little pay.

Kate has had to carry on working for the length of time Derek has been ill So she can afford the 24 hr around the clock help And raise and worry about her two children as well So her men health is troubling her too But she carries on she has no choice ! She’s lost the husband she had ,who was a very smart person ! Every time you see her there’s grief in her eyes I have to say she’s a very very strong person But underneath an emotional wreck at times ,bless her for coping for Derek the love of her and her children’s lives , you have to admire her ❤

As a carer for the last 30 years and a campaigner for carers for 20 of them, the "6 million carers" statistic is a charity based lie! That is more than the number of disabled people in the country. Carers UK class someone that goes to a non-disabled person's home to do a bit of gardening or shopping as "a carer" and they damn well are not. Carers care for disabled people, it's that simple. Kate, if you want to highlight what we do then speak to US not a charity worker that has no mandate to speak for us, it's our lives not theirs. They nor you will ever know the loneliness of being a carer as family members and friends drift away, and you are left to graft your whatsits off for a pittance. The challenge also goes out to this programme, I'm a novice of 30 years a carer, next year my Carers Allowance is stolen off me because I reach State Pension age, and you can't claim both benefits at the same time. There are carers in worse situations than me, speak to us for god's sake!

Maybe Kate should be sympathising with the young children who are full time carers, they have few people to turn to let alone a hudge media channel for sympathy. These little ones are not properly grown up and trying to get exams on top of their daily tasks.

Never seen her as much in t.v. lately (probably as she was always felt second best to Fiona Phillips!). Think some who constantly kiss her backside, should look at the facts!

Now she’s crying, why can she think of all those other carers struggling to look after loved ones. They probably can’t afford the help they need they are alone and have no one to talk to about the stress and she has the nerve to start blabbing on TV to get audiences sympathy votes. Kate have some respect for your husband and his dignity. How much have you made from your book ? There’s no privacy for your husband is there.?/

Fox thanks for that. Kate should have enough of a support network to who how difficult it is being a full time carer, which I’m sure she’s not because she has time to take photos of her husband in hospital beds and helplessly wheel chair bound and the go on morning to TV and show millions of viewers. How humiliating is that. There are hundreds of child cares out there who get on with it with no support and help. So shut up Kate and give your lovely husband some of his dignity. Then sort yourself out but don’t expect all the viewers to do it for you.
