Yes. My parents didn't involve us with grown up stuff. Unfortunately, with the media today and the worry of someone else at the children's school telling them, I understand how they had to tell them.

Well clearly they would never have that privilege. There are definitely some things that children should never be involved in. But I don't think you can hide certain things from children. They know somethings wrong and they can end up trying to work it out and come up with their own sometimes worse scenario. Age appropriate conversations and reassurance that you're doing everything you can is the way to go and involving them with lots of positive encouragement is great preparation for life.

Your issues are your children's issues too. Not in the same way but children sees and feels things. Hiding it, IMO, is more detrimental.

Catherine is not seeking publicity. Along with paying a visit to thank the staff at the RM for caring for her during her treatment she was there in her role of joint patron of the hospital. Part of that role is to draw the public’s attention to the work that is being undertaken there hence the camera crew being in attendance.
