Hi Kate, I'm the one that got a hold of your friend a couple days ago worried about you and she called you. In your very first video about this hostel I made a couple comments that I was worried that this was a business that wasn't looking all that great. When I looked your property up on Zillow there was way too many names connected to it and I thought how do they even know who the owner is with this many names. And it turns out I was right because I'm old and experienced and you're not. But you're getting experienced and experience always costs time and money. The good news is you won't make the same mistakes again and this just wasn't meant to be. Be glad that you got out of it before you put a whole lot more into it. Take care. Stay positive. Girl, you have such a kind, artistic personality. You seem to give everything, whatever you do. That's your best attribute. Most people don't have that same mentality. You'll find that age will make you wiser. Keep a place that is just for Kate Cloud. Follow your gut, when it starts to not feel right, back out, regardless of the gaslighting you get. I was so happy to see your video pop up for an update, but then I realized that it was bad news. I had been wondering what was happening. I really enjoyed your videos and watching you bringing that place to life and giving it so much energy. I empathize with your situation and know how much pain you must be in. You are definitely strong and resilient and with time comes healing. All of us strong, independent, mature women in the world need to stick together and offer support. I am in Central GA and you are welcome to come stay here if you want. I have 5 acres, plenty of room to graze for Little Leaf, and you can rest and find your peace again. I feel the weight. I lost 103 off grid homestead after 8 years due to shady sell by owner deal. We built an addition, gardens, trails, fixed up the sugar house, and it was our income. My kids lost their home and hope, due to a similar situation. I wish I could offer hope. All I have is empathy and compassion. .

Kate. I’m so devastated to hear about your hostel. This past year, a friend of mine had the same experience with a house she was renting to buy. She ended up moving out and giving up the house. She had to hire an attorney too. While everything was happening, her poor dog picked up on the stress in the house and lost most of his fur. Now, that she is settling into a new place, her dog’s fur is returning. Big hug for you. This is a tough situation. ❤ 🤗 ❤

I am so sorry for what happened to you. Things like this happen to me a lot when you are trusting. From your videos of the place. I think that you might have avoided some serious problems with the building. From code violations to fire hazards. It would have been really hard to maintain that building on seasonal income. Kate, my wife and I just listed to this video (I have been dealing with some post trail depressed from a failed AT thruhike attempt caused by a double meniscus tear from a fall with just a little more than half of the Trail to complete). I turned 70 during my hike and was told that I need knee replacement to be able to continue long distance hiking. I haven't committed to having that done yet. Its tough being handed such a situation where you are forced to abandon a lifelong dream. I completely get you (minus the betrayal thing). I hurt for you. I hope and pray 🙏 that you are doing better and find a clear path to wonderful dreams that you couldn't possibly predict in your wildest imagination.
