Hey Katee! Love the Pod, listen every week. If you ever get Paul again, ask him about playing the live action version of one of the most iconic animated characters, on the Netflix version of Avatar the last airbender. For me personally he was one of the highlights of the show.

I am very privileged to call Paul a friend, first virtually through his KZbin channel and then offline and in person. He does not have a performative side, he is genuinely just a friendly, kind human being who is (as the thumbnail says) living his dream and having the time of his life. Thankfully, he's also "one of us," a geeky fan who loves to share his experiences (once the NDAs allow!). This is a great interview, a great conversation, and I would love to be a fly on the wall in the middle of this chat!

I love this guy, and seeing him in Star Wars ALWAYS makes me smile. He feels like the representative for the every-man Star Wars fan that made it into the universe. I knew him from Kim's Convenience before Star Wars, so seeing him as Carson Teva made it even better.

I also love how Paul's appearance and physicality break norms for 'hero' pilots in Star Wars and he is not directed to play his role as incompetent or a clown, but as a reliable, serious and seasoned Rebel, turned New Republic pilot and law enforcement officer

This was an incredible interview, thank you for giving Paul the platform to tell his story. He's such a genuine kind person. And as a fellow Canadian I loved watching him on Kim's Convenience, and it's been awesome to see him get recognition for his talent and personality with bigger opportunities like Star Wars, especially as such a geek and having a role written for him, stuff of dreams.

Loved this one Katee. Paul is so genuine on his love for the franchise of Star Wars. To see his success from what his family expected is completely relatable as a BIPOC aiming to grow in his own career. The shared love of a fandom such as Star Wars and getting to be within the shows the way he did is totally heartwarming.

54:35 - I totally read Paul's Carson Teva character like a US Marshall more than a cop. The side-eye to Carl Weathers in The Siege is so good. The scene with Gina and "the badge" is right out of a proper Western. Thank you both for this wonderful interview.

There's nothing cooler to me than listening to people who truly love what they do, especially artists and creators who bring my favorite shows, books, movies, etc. to life. I didn't know a lot about Paul and I loved getting to know him. It's so fun to hear that he's as big of a nerd as many of us are. Truly a treat to listen to him talk to Katee, who is also such a blast to listen to because she obviously loves what she does, too. And OMG I laughed SOOOOO hard at the "naked eating KFC" thing. Thank you for that image, Paul, that you very much. LOL!

The reason that so many people (like me) only watch a little bit of the video is because we are listening to the rest of it in Podcast form. But we enjoy getting a feeling of the person being interviewed by watching a little bit of it - then we can keep that picture in our head as we listen to the rest. In this case, seeing the environment, like the wall behind Paul, is awesome - and worth popping over to KZbin for a bit, even if we can't watch the whole thing. 🙂

Paul's Carson's character in Mando is just a great example of what a good person can be. I draw inspiration from that character for sure. Such a role model of a character completely deserves an action figure!!! Additionally... I'm just so blown away by how joyful I feel hearing these conversations. Always hearing so much horrible stuff in the news and seeing people troll each other, hearing these conversations filled with overcoming challenges and always striving to become better people, gives me a lot of positive juice to keep going in that same direction.
