I’ve studied shops of other people selling the same thing (vintage style digital papers/handmade journals) and have noticed that those that are successful put into practice everything you have said. Great video, I'm just starting out and this really encourages me to jump in and not overthink it. I want to focus on printable wall art, but don't want to restrict myself to one niche of wall art for eg, I would like to do minimalistic, quotes, religious events, etc. Would you say this is too wide a choice? Meaning if you were starting out newly now, would you niche down or just do 'collections' in the same Etsy store? Also how many listings would you start out with? Hi Hina! Selling collections of wall art in one shop would be fine, I would just recommend to try to stay within a style type that fits your brand and overall style. Aim to have 12-15 listings completed before launching your shop to the public!

The answer i was looking for was more about if there is a way to add a small bio / tag line right on your home page about you or the shop? Like ideally I'd like to have something about my "long time Bead Store is now online" (something professional of course) I just would like to be able to have that info front & center when vistors arrive to establish a bit of creditability since the Etsy shop is so new. It also has a different name from my retail store, so I'd like folks to be able to know they are connected (both mine) if they are a previous customer. Again, without them having to search for an "About" page. I hope that makes sense! I guess I could just add some text in my shop banner? I just always thought there was a way to see your profile pic on the home page & be able to add a short blurb right there that explains what your store's purpose is. " Handmade Wedding gifts for your bridal party" "Custom Invitations for every occasion" etc.. so like a tag line? Thanks again for the info! ~ Vivi

I hope this helps! You can create a Shop Title that is exactly what you are describing. To access it, follow these steps: Go to your Shop Manager then scroll down to Sales Channels. Click on the pencil next to your shop name to edit. Look on the left under your banner, next to your Shop Logo, you will see a place to add a Shop Title. However, I would also add that info on your banner and maybe even include a picture of your actual storefront on the banner? Just my thoughts. Good luck and welcome to Etsy. We just opened our shop a couple of months ago as well. :)

Etsy offers all those tools that you can setup and it send automatically, you don't have to send any emails, all you need to do is add it to your setting to send those emails, for example Etsy automatically sending emails for me with discount codes to those who made a purchase, who fav an item or who abandoned cart. I also send sales email automatically when I setup sale.

I would steer clear and build your own organic traffic! Unfortunately there are a lot of scammers out there.

It doesn't. The only codes that Etsy will allow for your shop are codes that you set up for your shop in the Etsy apps (under marketing or codes?). As in, you could put a code into a post on Instagram, but if you don't have that code already in your coupon code list (& activated), it won't work)
