I'm happy to see you doing a Strathmore lesson. I have been painting in watercolor for years, but I have picked up new techniques from this lesson. I love to learn new things. Thanks Kate!

So glad to see this on KZbin. I followed you on Strathmore. This will make a nice reference. TFS!

Thank you very much for this video! I use your First Steps Painting Watercolors book and it has been so helpful as well.

My brother suggested I check out your lessons. The assisted living apartments where I live have various arts and crafts offerings, including watercolor painting. I'll be suggesting to our activities people that we watch your lessons as part of scheduled sessions. I'm a beginner, some are much more experienced. (Con does say I have an eye for color though.) I'm pretty sure we'll all learn a lot.

I'm afraid to buy artist grade tubes because I know once I use them I will never be able to go back to the student grade, which is easier on my budget. Maybe I'll get 3 of the primaries and do some experimentation that way. Thanks for posting this series!

You know, actually artist grade paints are usually so much more concentrated they go farther. I'm not sure they don't actually SAVE you money in the long run!

Hello ma'am! I am just wondering about the names of colors that you squeezed into this beautiful travel palette. I am a newbie in painting and i'd like to sort of mimic your color preference. Thanks.

I'm sorry, that's so old I don't remember! You can see some of my usual colors here: www.flickr.com/photos/cathy-johnson/sets/72157604173444404/

What brand of watercolor do you use; do you use student grade colors? Thanks again.

No, I use artist grade; student grade can be weak and grainy.
