I love McPhee she has a great voice within her range, where she gets nailed by the judges rightfully so is when she strays into the upper levels that really stretch her vocal range. Theres nothing wrong with that she's not Whitney Houston or Celine Dion and she doesn't need to be to be successful as is apparent. As she continues to gain experience she learn how far she can push it and where not to go with her music.

This is really beautiful and by far one of her best performances ever! I loved everything about this performance and arrangement. It was perfectly flawlessly. I also loved Jena's version of this as well these two versions are my top 2 favorite versions. Simon was wrong about this. The voters proved Simon wrong by making her safe and not putting her in the bottom three or two.

Her voice is absolutely enchanting but I kind of agree with the judges on this one. The beginning was beautiful but she kind of oversang the song in my opinion toward the end. I don't really like the way she sang the ending but her eyes really gleamed in the beginning. So this performance was a B-

Early in his Career, Frank Sinatra had a voice that was strong enough that he sang with no vigbratro. It was very impressive. McPhee is the opposite of that when on stage. But my guess is that any producer would never let her get away with that histronics on a record.

Dang, no wonder why I wasn't a big fan of her during AI! She sounds AMAZING, but the judges TOTALLY rip her apart.....dang, did they want us not to like her? I completely agree with Simon. Although she has a beautiful and strong voice, this wasn't the song for her to showcase her talent with. "Can't help falling in love" is a classic and the lyrics are so powerful that it doesn't need that "gallon of cream" on it. She butchered a classic almost the same way Christina Aguilera butchered "at last" at Etta James funeral

I believe this song would sound better with a softer delivery - her performance is somewhat harsh, and too loud for a song about falling in love; and her facial expressions do not convey the sensitivity of the feeling of falling in love. I've heard other vocalists perform this song softly, and the gentle approach is more appropriate for a song about love.
