OMG I just discovered (first saw) her a month or two ago and now she's on The Tonight Show! Awesome. I think she's hilarious. People are really focused on my use of the word "discovered", as if I claimed I dug her up on some ancient Egypt Expedition or something. So I shall alter my comment slightly and substitute "found out about" or "fist saw". Hopefully this will please the nitpickers that seem oddly focused on that word.

Same! A friend sent me a reel on IG. *not a family member, agent or her “aunt’s hairdresser’s daughter” (or whatever you said below, you sad person living in your mom’s basement). Not all comedy is for all people. She’s freaking hilarious - go see her other sets, too. So happy for her 🙌🏼

I know, right? I had no idea who Katherine was until both YT and Instagram started pushing her clips to the top of my feeds (mind you, as a general rule of thumb, I couldn't care less about stand up comedy and I'm italian on top of that!), then, surprise surprise, one week later she's on Fallon. I guess that's how advertisement works in 2022.

i discovered her not too long ago through instagram reels of all places and i find her comedy so unique. i'm not usually a huge fan of comedians but she's one of the few i really love! glad to see her career taking off.

I love her sm and her delivery, she was definitely nervous here which is understandable but I rlly hope there isn't an influx of mysogonists nitpicking this routine w/o checking out her other stuff. One of my fave comedians!

Oh without a doubt we all know there will be. The second they see that a comedian is a woman, they don’t even watch any of it before criticizing and saying that it’s not funny in the slightest and that women can’t be funny ever. Or if they do watch it, even if they laugh, they still try to say that they only laughed because it’s so pathetic and they were laughing at how unfunny it was OR laughing at the fact that the woman thinks she’s funny. Whatever excuse they can think of. Because they just can’t handle the idea of a woman being ANYTHING. It’s pathetic.

I mean... even though I laughed, I only laughed because its so pathetic AND I was laughing at the fact that she thinks she was funny! I can't tell if the crowd laughter was too low, or if she wasn't on top of her game that night, but everything else I've seen from her is much tighter and brings out real joy. I usually feel like Jimmy brings out the lamest in comedians, being one of the lamest himself.

She makes extremely good use of pauses and timing in her act, and I think the Tonight Show format kind of forced her to steamroll through in a way that she doesn't usually. As she gets more of this kind of exposure, I would say she will develop material specifically for this kind of environment, rather than just having to shoehorn her subtleties into a micro-set.
