Katherine Rundell: The Waterstones Interview

Im 32 and picked up the book because one of the reviews talks about Katherine being compared to Tolkien. Impossible creatures made me tear up, made me laugh out loud, and made me wince when things got rough for the characters. This book was adventure through and through. I love this book so much, I've convinced my partner to get the book for her best friends little girl, and I think were all going to read it together. Thank you, Katherine.

Katherine once said wit & paradox can only get you so far ( there's only so many words you can employ and express ). You use words in an indirect way .Also a touch of Socrates Irony in The Impossible various characterizations , so yeah . I agree.

I bought the book as a present for my grandchild, but it is so wonderful, I had to read it before I gave it to him. He adores the novel, as do I.
