Ingredients for cake :
3 tbsp boiling water (热水)
2 tbsp chocolate powder or cocoa powder (巧克力粉或可可粉)
4 egg yolks (蛋黄)
1 egg (全蛋)
20g caster sugar (细砂糖)
1/8 tsp salt(盐)
65g corn oil (玉米油)
45 water(水)
100g plain flour(普通面粉)
10g corn flour (玉米粉)
4 egg whites (蛋白)
1 tsp lemon juice (柠檬汁)
80g caster sugar (细砂糖)

مرحبا الوصفة هي 2 ملعقة كبيرة شكولاطة بودر 3 ملعقة ماء دافئ 20غ سكر ناعم 65غ زيت الذرة ثمن ملعقة ملح 45مل ماء 4 صفار بيض و بيضة كاملة 100غ طحين 10غ نشاء 4 بياض بيض 80غ سكر ناعم ملعقة عصير ليمون درجة الحرارة 140 والمدة 50 دقيقة شكرا لكم.

That you for sharing a beautiful chocolate chiffon cake. The top of yr cake is nice n smooth. When I bake it there is always a crack. Can you advice how to avoid this?

You don't seem to use baking powder at all. Instead you use 1 extra egg , is it ?

I want to try your recipe. However, I need clarification on the oven temperature. 140C = 284F. I’ve never heard of any cake recipe baking below 325F. Is 140C correct?

Hi Kathrine can I use cake flour instead of plain flour? What is the difference? What is the purpose of corn flour? When to use ring pan n normal pan for chiffon cake? Hope to hear from you soonest! Yes u can use cake flour....in fact cake flour is recommended when making soft cakes like a chiffon cake...mixing corn flour with plain flour is just a substitute for cake flour when u dont hav it in hand

Was a bit confused when the instructions said to bake it cuz I normally use water bath for these. Anyway I baked according to instructions and rested in the oven for 15mins before taking it out. Still deflated hahaha. Taste and texture ok but it didn't come out as chiffon cake for me

Made this today and it's collapsed after taken out of the oven, any idea why? but it tastes good and very soft too. Thank you for the recipe 😊

I learn from other videos & comments, sponge cakes cannot be taken out straight after bake/steam time is up. It must be left in the oven/steaming pot for at least another 5 mins to let it "get use" of the low temperature. Try that if is useful for you

The egg whites should be of soft peaks in chiffon cakes. I tried with stiff peaks and my cake shrank

老师,今天用妳的食普我做了巧克力8寸的蛋糕但烤到30分钟时裂开了,出烤箱时本想不倒扣的看到要塌陷了马上将倒扣是救回来了但变成戚风做法了,老师我的错点在那?请指导谢谢🙏

Super. Like always. One question Katherine: when you write in the recipe corn flour, is It really corn flour or cornstarch?. Because the texture of this seems to me cornstarch. Best wishes from Spain

It's corn starch because it is white while the corn flour is a little yellow..

I've a small simple electric oven, with uper and lower elements. with max 230 C of temp. When you say, to use lower elements for baking, my cake burns from below and remains white on the top. While your cake is white at the base and red at the top. Do you have any combination of uper and lower at different timing, or what? Do tell me, plz.

haifaa Shakir هي قالت انه ١٤٠ لمدة ٥٠ دقيقه وبعدها ترفعين درجة الحرارة ل١٦٠ لمدة ١٠ دقايق ..بالنسبة للتسخين الفرن هو لازم اَي كيكه تسويه لازم يكون الفرن حامي ولا تهبط الكيكه
