Welcome back Kathryn ❤️. I believe we can all relate to what you’re going through; we experience it as well, some more than others. However, when you come back, it’s with a bang! I truly adore the heart pendant, especially close to Valentine’s, and your order earrings and pendant are also gorgeous. Everything you make is so elegant and delightful. The earth tones you have chosen add a refinement to the pieces. Thank you for sharing another winning tutorial. Keep well ❤️🤗

Can tell you I've been in a rut too, it's a good idea to just get stuck into your craft of choice, I have been wanting to get back into clay but haven't yet, there are a few of your tutorials and clay boutique's that I've fallen in love with so will get my butt into gear and see if I can do them some justice, I'm a big crystal lover so you could guess which ones I'll be trying out first, I made a block of mother of pearl and cannot for the life of me remember where I put it... 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤣 Thanks Kathryn. 💐🙏

Hi Kathryn, Happy healthy new year to you with love and lots of creative moments. I love today's pendant and earrings very much , very elegant and they look realistic stones. Very good tip as well, to use nail files for sanding. When applying the sheets, would you recommend to wait a little bit for the alcohol to evaporate before applying the next sheet? Thanks a lot.
@maggiesmith22082 жыл бұрын
thanks for the tip with nail files i never knew you could get different gradients with them, your pieces you made today are just darling i like them very much thank you for sharing, have a great day

Hi Kathryn, I’ve just found your videos which are brilliant an so lovely to hear a fellow northerner’s voice (live down South now). I’m new to polymer clay and wondered where you buy the silver things that you put the pendant and earrings on before baking. Thanks.

Beautiful 💜! I really love what one can do with alcohol ink. Technical question - I've learned In resin and on paper the alcohol ink isn't colorfast and in time fades. Does it fade over time on polymer clay too or does maybe a chemical reaction or baking or something make it colorfast permanently? Can I expect the color to be the same in say 10 years or longer?
@KathrynHalstead2 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard similar things but have yet to see proof of it happening in clay 😬 I have had it happen yupo paper with ranger inks but I suppose this can happen with lots of colour media over time x

Kathryn, do you think your 3 sided pendant and matching earrings seem very like your mokume boka? I do. They are so stunning. I can’t wait to make these. That opaline is very gorgeous, it gives the feel of porcelain to me. Then that lovely amber color. Just gorgeous! I want to thank you for your opening remarks. There’s so much you said, but the main thing for me was getting out of a rut. You are so right! You couldn’t be more helpful. It must be so wonderful to have a group to clay with. There were more tips than the rut point. I’m trying to say all of these comments you make are very helpful to someone like me. Thank you very much. Do you know if the translucency looks better in real life than you’re able to capture on camera? I’m just wondering as I couldn’t see it - just the beautiful milkiness of the piece. But if ice water is the way to go, I’d go that way! What if you were to put in 2 squares of translucent in lieu of one. I love translucent pieces! You mentioned you were using Melanie Muir cutters. Do they also have a glitch where the sides of the metal meet? Do you know of any metal cutters without that connecting portion! I mean solid shaped ones? Happy Claying! Be well, please. Your kitty, Doris is wonderfully adorable! I’m so glad you have chosen to make tutorials. Thank you!💕
