My mom just brought this yarn home from Spain, I am very excited to begin the 1st of 2 scarves!! Thanks for the video, the instructions were confusing. :)

Just cast off normally until you have one stitch left. Cut the yarn (if you need to) until there's about 4 inches left and draw through the last stitch. Pull really tight. Then I just thread the end through another cast off stitch and did another knot until I felt it wouldn't come undone. You could also scrunch the end up to the cast off edge and sew it down with a matching thread.

I would cut that section out and tie a knot joining the 2 pieces. Then knit a stitch as close as possible either side of the join. You won't even notice in the finished scarf.
