So... as a VERY fat woman, I think Katies views on being fat are hilarious (because of the bluntness) and actually 100% right. I didnt get fat by bad luck... I over-ate, under-excercised and gave up on myself. Yes illness makes my own weight issue worse but that doesnt give me the right to police the whole worlds opinions and thoughts about me. I can make an effort to be healthier and "normal" or suffer the consequences of not doing so. You can't expect huge societal norms to change because your feelings might get hurt. The moral fibre it took to point out the hypocrisy of Australia letting her in for a TV show while they locked their own citizens up (knowing she risked losing £500k by doing so but doing it anyway because it was right) is just one reason to respect Katy.
