All jokes aside though, I really like that Sam checks in while putting on the blindfold. I noticed he checked in to see if Izzy (? i think? The examples you made were amazing pieces to watch. I’d say the only exclusion to comfort was Total Forgiveness- but A that was *designed* to be uncomfortable and against their normalcies for Ally and Grant that was literally the *entire* point and B, they did always have the option to back down Also Sam is always great at checking in. I feel like so much more goes in behind the scenes, like talking to the cast 1:1 and seeing how they’re feeling regularly. Which more workplaces need to do. That’s how you retain workers and highly committed ones at that

Honestly, knife throwing _without_ the blindfold would be scarier than _with_ a blindfold. Not only could you see it coming, which is scarier than just "knowing" it's coming, but there's a chance you won't be able to keep yourself from moving when you see the throw. Also, your reactions or movements might inadvertantly make the knife thrower less accurate. All around way worse. Plus, I *HATE* being tickled. I might rather be stabbed, I'll have to think about that one.

Just before the last shot in this clip you can see Sam getting ready to slam a knife into the board instead of having anyone throw any. For safety/liability reasons they don't actually throw any knives, they just make it seem like they did. Still, that assumes Katie knew they wouldn't do it that way. She might have just trusted the professional enough not to freak out.

I think getting stab could still potentially embarrass you. Unless you meet swift death, which is really rare, being stabbed in certain areas could give you a lot of pain and embarrassment, second, pain can lead to delirium as your brain tries to block pain signals, or as you begin to lose consciousness from blood loss, you could also go into delirium and do ridiculous things; and if I'm not mistaken, that and the adrenaline rush is going to make you say and do things you're not supposed to. But if they stab you in the heart or brain, at least you won't have time to embarrass yourself. Even if drainage comes out voluntarily from every sphincter, you won't be alive to know you've pissed yourself to be embarrassed. Unfortunately, if the knife thrower isn't aiming to kill you, that's unlikely.

I've seen Penn and Teller. They only pretend to throw the knife while a helper pushes the knife into the wood in a safe controlled manner. The audience then plays along and pretends the knife was thrown.

Yeah, if I’m told to stay very still with my arms up while blindfolded, I would also be afraid of being tickled. Cause then you also have the fear that if you move, you’ll get a knife stuck in you. Sometimes people do stupid things and accidents happen. I would feel quite vulnerable blindfolded with my arms up
