CGM-for-the-masses will be one of the most game-changing tech developments in years. Kudos to you for recognizing this Katie. You're great at picking the most cutting edge stuff. I don't think we're far from a point where red/green light is used to estimate glucose continuously in Apple Watch, Oura Ring or whatever the dominant all-purpose wearable will be. I saw a red-light CGM at CES this year.

i really appreciate the feedback, Randy! And funny enough I feel behind the times as I've heard Peter Attia talking about them for a few years now! So happy to get the word out. Also what was the name of the company with the red-light CGM? sounds super cool!

Also, apologies for the fact that I cannot remember the company with the red-light CGM. They were based in China and the guy gave me his biz card and I lost it :( But I know they were trying to simultaneously sell their own device (a $1500 CGM watch) while also seeing if Apple or other manufacturers would buy them out and integrate the tech. Its really just software at this point so not efficient to have their own device. My guess is that the Apple's of the world are already testing out different software solutions and will eventually incorporate one when they're very confident of the reliability. The only problem is that leaders like Apple have too much reputation at stake and often require extreme reliability for mass products. Whereas people like you & your subscribers might be more interested in earlier versions of things with iffy reliability. So our crowd will probably be using CGM before its on an Apple watch.

This is WAY too interesting! I’d never even heard of glucose monitor that can connect and record your glucose levels via your phone! My mom and BF are both diabetic and use the little monitors that you have to prick your finger every time. Such an interesting piece of health tech! Thanks for the review Katie! Cannot wait to see your follow-up vid on this one!

Just got mine today, so excited to see the results. TY for review.

Thanks for the great review! Might be getting ahead here, but did you notice changes you made have a impact on your sleep and mood? How much longer do you think you will continue with Nutrisense?
@katie_moore4 жыл бұрын
LOVE this question! haven't noticed any crazy changes in my sleep data yet, but putting that on the list of things to address in my next video! I'm definitely planning to work with Nutrisense for at least another month and then play it by ear after that. As I mentioned in my video, until the price comes down significantly, this unfortunately cannot be a long-term thing for me financially. BUT that's why I'm doing all these crazy self experiments while I have the device on so at least I can get some baselines going :)

When using a CGM with intermittent fasting, what should my reading be to stop the fast & begin my eating window?
@lilystonne41082 жыл бұрын
I bought the Freestyle Libre 2. It was not very accurate when compared to a blood glucose monitor. The difference ranged from 0.5 to 1.9 mmol/L. Average was 1.1 mmol/L higher than the glucose monitor. So I just reduced the Libre 2 reading by 1.0. I also checked the Libre 2 once per day for consistency. I will buy another cgm 6 months from now. I hope Nutrisense is more accurate.

It should be stated that the opposite applies for this who are hypoglycemic. Eating/snacking is necessary or glucose can easily drop dangerously low. Not everyone can fast, especially for a ton of hours.

Does this device and otherCGMs penetrate the skin or what exactly? I don't understand how it can monitor your blood glucose levels without access to the blood.... Also temp restrictions make any sauna use impossible.
@katie_moore4 жыл бұрын
It puts a tiny thread into your arm that comes in contact with your blood. That’s how it reads glucose levels. I wore my CGM in the sauna a couple times and it didn’t break. Hope that helps!

@katie_moore3 жыл бұрын
So Nutrisense and Levels are two companies now that are doing CGMs without a doctor's note! It's more expensive than if you go through a doctor but it means that anyone can get them! Time for the industry to change. You shouldn't need to already have a medical condition in order to be allowed to monitor your own health metrics!

that's a fantastic one! only concern is the sauna part because according to NutriSense, the temperature can only go up to 113. Right now I only have access to a dry sauna, which far exceeds that temperature so I'm worried it might mess up the device :/

NutriSense malicious subscription model We get 2 subscription one for 3 moths and the other one for 1 moth and after we choose and pay more for the 1 moth we have another $350 charge, contact customer service: I would like to note with the 4-month shelf life, you can activate your sensors whenever you want. This gives you flexibility, and the ability to customize your tracking time to match your schedule. Each sensor lasts about 14 days, and the 14 days of monitoring does not start counting down until you apply and activate the new sensor. Moving forward, I'd like to confirm that your subscription has since been successfully canceled from auto-renewal within the app. I also see that you have an active auto-renwal on your 3-moth subscription.
