It's a shame that the doctors treating diabetics were not trained to recommend a healthy diet as a way to prevent the disease. Thank you for bringing the issue to the attention of the general public so that everyone will learn how to take care of their health.

Yesterday morning I heard on the radio, LA’s number 1 party station Mega 96.3, they said “Rememebr everyone, eat your veggies first, then protein, then carbs.” Thank you Jessie for getting the word out to California. With 53 million people. And it has a huge community of latins which are more prone to diabetes. All my family has it. Not me and I do these hacks and my A1C is in normal range now 5.2, my goal is to get it even lower! Thank you GG 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Wow! Fantastic interview, with two great people. And Casey really pulled more of the science out of Jessie than I have seen in other videos. And this talk makes we question whether most of us (~88% of Americans) are actually metabolically unhealthy, or if we have just lost touch with how our ancestors used to eat (order of foods, etc., which are now Jessie's hacks). If they had eating traditions that were healthier, that they developed by trial and error over time. As in, we're not broken, we're just eating the wrong way.

It’s always made sense to me that dessert should only be eaten after a proper meal. To much fast process food is the problem. Get back to basics. We all know we eat crap when we have not planned for our meals accordingly. My favorite lunch time meal is leftover protein, a small portion of brown rice, and lots a veggies (usually left overs) also a big handful of spinach, a little feta and a drizzle of olive oil. When I eat this on a regular basis, I’m good. I also try to fast most days from 7pm to 11-12 am the next day. Vacations and getting sick really derails me though.

I effectively reduced my HBA1C from 7.57% to 5.17% in just 3 months by eating less carbs, 10k steps brisk walk daily and the medication. Mostly my breakfast is boiled oatmeal with almond milk and boild or fried egg. Mostly my lunch is Palmini rice or vege salad and chicken or fish( soap, grilled or steamed: salmon, sardines, tuna, milkfish, mackerel or any fish high in omega 3). In dinner im eating less with oatmeal with nuts (raw almond, walnuts, cashew) and fruits. I alternate my meal with Palmini rice with fish or chicken breast. I cooked 1 pack Palmini rice with fine chopped carrots, cauliflower and broccoli. In a pan, spray a virgin olive oil then saute the garlic and onion, then put the Palmini then then the veges (you can also add half cup of cooked rice for a little bit of carbs) then salt with black pepper to taste.

Love Jesse, but the discussion re. ‘suckering’ people by charging for stuff sold by the food industry, which is all about money, does stick in the craw when JESSE IS charging $50 for her new ‘dietetic aids’. She has given us great hacks. Well done, and she does point out that the hacks are great and work almost as well as the new supplement and that if unaffordable one can continue with the hacks. Human psychology, however, works in a way that means some suggestion re. a health professional creates a crafty demand. Kerching!

Is it enough, or are we missing out any factors that perhaps do not get enough attention? THAT should be what we need to focus on for a more holistic approach instead of doctors shrugging their shoulders because they still don't know how to connect the dots between metabolic pathogenic phenomena and coordinate successful countermeasures - even if it means crossing the borders of other medical disciplines... Example: nutritional aspects of ADEQUATE nutrition and NOT forcing to go for foods that just look like balanced MACRO-NUTRIENTS and do not pay enough attention to MICRO-NUTRIENTS. Beans, Lentils and other Legumes are among vegetarian foods along with cruciferic ones (like leafy greens such as salad, lettuce, radicchio, kale, sauerkraut, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts etc.) UNDERREPRESENTED in mostly unsalted hospital menu choices, whereas bread, rice, potatoes etc. has too many starches and little to no fibers. Damn it, these facts are well known by now in our century - so why do we still allow food which is hardly any better than fast foods or TV dinners to be served to us in hospitals? IT'S NOT HEALTHY!! How are patients supposed to recuperate if their meals are not adjusted to their needs? Huh?

Yes but most people are incredibly simple -this will for sure make a dent in the health crisis. Take it for what it’s worth. She can repeat simple things a million times because that’s what will work for the simple populace.

no disrespect dr, Casey,, i think at least half of the doc these days aren't doin that job for the people anymore..Either they are worn out from working so much to help people or just there for the prestige of the career and monies.. or they would at give us the hacks...

How on earth did we survive for the millions of years when there were no available testing or supplements and the only high energy food worth while were meat, fish and the occasional egg? And yes, we did survive - all my ancestors did, or I wouldn't be here...

I love the information shared here in general and I look forward to more uploads, and will also probably order her book, but she could have left parts of her background with the other doctors out of the conversation. Her comments about "those older doctors will die eventually" was really distasteful. Yes they might have acted sexist to her but the way she said that nonchalantly just came off the wrong way to me.

So this doesn’t explain why two people with the same life style one gets it one doesn’t. We process glucose differently. I’ve been doing a lot of these things for the last 20 yrs they made minimal difference. Most of the people jumping on these fads don’t even have diabetes. Going on a vegan diet put my diabetes in remission but my weight loss stalled and I developed food allergies. This raises lots of questions but there is no one fits all solution.

But why AREN'T you anti-processed food, since that is the #1 health problem world wide? It's a problem I have with your approach-teaching people how to minimize the harmful impact of unhealthy foods (ie "hacks"),is like teaching people how to minimize the hangovers associated with overindulging in alcohol consumption. As health educators, I thin we can do better than that....

@@richardnorris7948 she’ll be saying this in 5 years - baby steps for the sick masses addicted to their drugs - don’t even talk about taking them away- she doesn’t and that’s why she’s makin’ the cheddah. Half the time I feel like she’s talking to Sesame Street viewers - keep it simple till they are ready- but ya - irks me a bit too. Listening to her reminds me of when I tried to read “The Secret” after reading “The Dancing Wu Li Masters”- put it down after page 2 lol

Because most people either due to economic factors or life-long habits, can’t afford to change their diet! Being anti this or that doesn’t actually change people it usually makes them defensive. They need to change themselves!
