So lovely to see the ponies, and of course you can stroke them if you are careful, as long as you do not feed them, if they are in land you are allowed to walk in. You two seem like such good friends, so such a lovely thing to do together. xxx

Thank you. The waterfalls were amazing and to walk behind one flowing with such force must have been exciting. It has been a joy to watch two friends having fun and sharing their passion for mushrooms!

That was very sweet to watch! Even though I quite enjoy being in the woods, I don't think walking 16 miles a day would be my cup of tea for a holiday :). I'm more of a musuems and book shop kind of person. Watching this trip from my snuggly little couch was perfect though. Thanks for taking us along!

So glad you got your swim. We lived in Hereford for many years and the Brecon Beacons were our go to place so your walking trip has brought back to many happy memories. Thank you.

So now I want to go hiking and find waterfalls and mushrooms. I live in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in the southern United States, and the possibilities are endless. You ladies have motivated me!

What an absolute delight it has been to follow along on your adventure. I’m looking forward to day 7, but not at all wanting it to be over.

So glad you were able to get back to your planned hiking. Loved the mushrooms and the waterfalls. Here in Oregon, USA, we are lucky to have a lot of waterfalls and some that you can even walk behind though the ones I've done are a lot more narrow rock ledge. You can't imagine the real power of the falls unless you've been up close and personal with it like that. So glad you had such a wonderful day after the disappointing derailment of car trouble.

Is it legal to go over fences onto someone’s property and safe to approach horses you don’t know? Those red mushrooms were neat ! This is quite an adventure

Yes absolutely - every route we used was a waymarked public footpath or open access land. The fence crossings (called stiles) are designed so that humans can cross but livestock can't.

We had an airbnb for some nights, and other nights we returned to my house which wasn't too far away.

Is that the forest where the Merlin films were made?

I wasn't sure about this so I looked it up, and apparently yes! The waterfall we walked behind was used in the BBC Merlin series, and also the reservoir by which we rode the steam train on Day 3 was used, according to merlinlocations.com/location-posts/

Thank you for your reply. So much people loved watching Merlin series in Turkey. Maybe better if you add a few words below the video for Merlin film fans. Meanwhile, I hope one day they will continue making new Merlin films before climate change destroy the forests.@@KatieGreenBean
