I’m in! I finished birbfest with MonkeyMintaka. I made all the 31 birds and my skills improved immensly!! I just got really bored with drawing only birds. I am looking forward to Katie’s challenge, because the topics vary so much. Great idea.

The consistency is what I struggle with most...due to being often tired from my job, especially in this busy season that lasts till April. So I don't know if I can join the challenge🙈 But I do try to draw 10 minutes here and there. Though I feel is not enough. 😢 I really appreciate your tips Katie! Katie, I am really excited bout your book and about this challenge. You are one of my favorite artists (and KZbinr, and Instagram artist). Your videos are always so encouraging and I always find myself excited to work on my own sketchbook when I watch your videos. I started doing art on and off since 2016 to help my mental health while I went through nursing school and life always gets in the way. My goal this year is simply just "more art". Last year my mom suffered a stroke and it was so hard to create and try to get her back on her feet (she is doing well). You helped on this too, because even though she does not speak English and doesn't do art, mom really enjoys your videos. She enjoys how gentle your voice is and your art (color choices as well as subjects) because she always finds it uplifting. Any time we see a video from you is up, we drink tea and sit together at the TV to watch it. So, thank you for encouraging me to get back to art and my sketchbook, and for giving me a moment to enjoy what I love with my mom and help her understand me a little bit more. Can't wait to see more of your art, and more books from you.

Oh, and you know what? I have a 90 percent unfilled etchr a5 cold press sketchbook that's been sitting on my shelf for literally almost 3 years because after buying it, I realized I have a hard time with landscape orientation. HOWEVER! I think this would be a really low-pressure way to fill it and even if the drawings aren't amazing. At least it isn't collecting dust. That thing was 30 dollars! I guess I have felt like using it incorrectly would be wasting it, but not using it at all is DEFINITELY wasting it. Let's do it!

Wow... universe confirms a daily challenge ii started yesterday to learn to draw dolphins for 30 days, drink water consistently, use my sketchbooks without being precious, & work thru supplies overwhelm by using some/one thing ii don't use because ii expect to know how it "should" look instantly, & invariably ii revert to familiar actions without growing forward... ty katie for adding a companion prompts list ii will make time to play in.

Hey Katie, I don't know if you know this. I thought I had preordered the English version of your book, but it turns out it's the kindle version (don't have a kindle). Only English version that can be preordered on Amazon Germany. But: there will be a German print version available on Febr. 20. I'm confused. So if I won't be able to get it in English, it will be the German one. Strange though:D Hope the preorders are going through the roof! Finger's crossed

Hi Selma! Oh that is really odd! I know that the hard copy is not available in some countries which is why Kindle might be the only option showing. Other people have shared that the German website 'Thalia' has the English book available to pre-order on their shop, which could be an option! I also don't know why the German version is going to be out early 🙈 Either way, thank you SO much for your support! I really appreciate it 💜

You're welcome to do it that way if it feels better for you - personally I prefer not to sketch and don't use an eraser because I find it makes my work tighter, and I prefer to go wobbly and loose with line work and embrace that looser style instead! But it's totally personal preference, I just always want to skip that part with getting lines right first because I'm impatient 😄
