Being a new flight attendant is kind of like being in an abusive relationship. You constantly get ready to go somewhere, they constantly cancel on you and make plans at the last minute.

Yes, using people’s name is very respectful but there’s always that risk LOL awesome storytelling skills!

Kat I just love your videos! You are so good at this.Because youre so real and you just speak the truth. And you keep it simple. Its all common sense. So thank you sob much. I cant tell you how much youre helping me, Ive been trying and trying and trying to make my dream come true for about 8 years now. Ive literally gone on over 20 F2F interviews with various airlines over the years and to no avail.But I will not give up because what have I got to loose? So Im so excited cause I just found out I got picked to go to my dream airline F2F on 1/7/20 at AA. So Im prepping now by watching you ! any advise you can give about the AA experience would be most appreciated! Thank you

This is So True! I had applied at with a company and didn't hear anything. I was in one of the locations and spotted a manager I had previously left my info and as I walked up to him he was speaking to another manager (she was doing something and not looking at him) about my application. She asked him what position I was interested in and he looked at me kind of panicked (I realized he didn't remember) so I answered her question. She thanked me and told me when to come in for the interview process. I walked away before getting her name!! I walked back, apologised for interrupting again and asked how to pronounce her name (she was wearing a name badge). I shook her hand and walked away. My party that was waiting for me said after I walked away she than smiled. Going back and just asking how to pronounce her name secured that job.

I don't want to give you bad advice, so let me be honest and say that I haven't read any books in regards to that. I'm naturally extraverted so I am probably the wrong person to ask. I wish I had a better answer for you.

This was really helpful Kat , but i have a got doubt, what if they dont give you a name or we didn't get a chance to find out what their name is? What to do in those situations?
@KatNesbitt5 жыл бұрын
If they are important they will introduce themself or be introduced. If you missed their name ask them to repeat it to be gracious

Hey Kat, I have a question for you! I was scheduled for my in person interview tomorrow, it was rescheduled once already because I couldn't get time off my job. I got the time off for tomorrow and my recruiter has neglected to respond to emails until today and now tells me there are no flights and we have to reschedule tomorrow. If my interview is tomorrow and we don't reschedule until tomorrow, wouldn't that show as being a no show and result in being disqualified? Please help..
@RecorderChicka5 жыл бұрын
@Charlie C I wasn't given a flight plan. He said was going to reschedule it last week and hasn't.

One thing I’m concerned with is not being attractive enough for the video/1:1 interviews. Yeah, my photo is okayish, but I’ve gained 50lbs within the year due to my thyroid deciding to karate chop me in the face and add to the scale. My question is, do you personally feel that airlines hire cute young girls over those who are less than cute or appealing to the customers?

I have a question about this, as far as calling them by their name, Mr./Ms. ___… how does it effect those that may go by pronouns or don’t want to be referred to as Mr/ma’am/Sir or what if you can tell their gender appropriate pronouns etc? Has anyone every been offended? And if so how would you deal with this?

I'm so the opposite of that. If someone I don't know uses my name, it freaks me out. LOL I don't like it. It feels like false intimacy to me. Or a stalker. I've been stalked 3 times, so maybe I'm just sensitive to keeping my anonymity in my casual interactions. A name is a powerful thing to me, so if I'm never seeing that person again, I'd rather we not swap names. I'd respect their privacy and not ask and would be a lil freaked if they used mine if we hadn't officially 'introduced' ourselves. I think esp from a flight attendant because I would know that they could easily get my address and that would make me feel a tinge of unsafe (more if it were a male FA). Not that I would think they would, but just part of my brain would be uneasy with the knowledge that they could which would be triggered by using my name esp since it would also mean anyone in the vicinity listening now knew it also. You can't be too safe these days. LOL
