Hi Alex.. I'm a Model Railroader Subscriber and followed the building of the Salt Lake Route layout and must say I'm pleased it's been donated to Kato.. I'm sure it's going to be put to great use.. Thinking I might have to get me one of those Gold Bonnet PA's with ESU Loksound.. ;-) Dave

The Super Chief and El Capitan sets are very nice, but not everybody needs a Super Chief or El Capitan. So please do a 3-pack set containing an RPO and baggage car from the SC set plus the baggage car from the baggage car from the EC set.

Carl Gonsalves agreed. the only one i think on the market is bachmann, which i have. i just never use it because i hate bachmann. i only do kato, and atlas mainly with some acceptions of micro trains

Very very cool the MR donated this layout to Kato. It may possibly be the coming out for what could be done with Unitrack. Now you can get some real video of current releases. Get your guys in Japan to build something...Shiki Shima looks kinda silly on a temporary track plunked down on a sheet.

What is the plausibility of bringing some of the Japanese models to America? And if those of who model ssid Japanese prototypes, where should we go for support/parts?

We can import Japanese items on a special order basis if they're available currently at Hobby Center Kato, you would have to have your dealer place the order to us directly. For Support and parts it's more difficult because Kato USA doesn't have any parts for Japanese market items - again we can order them from Hobby Center Kato in Tokyo but we need to know _exactly_ what it is you're needing since those are not our products and we don't have technical data on them.

I usually don't gripe about anything..this video however was intended to be an introduction to both a new layout that can be had and the new "sound" unit PA engine.. what we got for the most part was Benny Goodman over the top of the sound and only the front side of the layout.. Ok, so you showed the sound box..briefly. enough rant.. you get the picture. And, I'm sure you really don't give a damn otherwise you would have done different.
