Kishimoto once stated in an interview that he hoped to make a Minato prequel series. He said this before Naruto's story ended. We would have definitely seen more or Sakumo Hatake in a Minato prequel. I would love see Minato fight Kushina during their Chunin exams, since back then Chunin exams were held in individual villages and Naruto's Chunin exams were the first collaboration between the 5 nations.

Not only does this "interview" not seem to exist anywhere on Google, but that chunin exam fact is completely false because we see shinobi from the Cloud in Kakashi's flashback to his own exams. It is never stated that the villages used to only have their chunin exams internally, only that it's customary to do them only with villages they're allied with. And the Chunin Exams we see in Naruto were not a collaboration between the Five Nations. Only the villages Konoha was allied with, which included Sand, Rain, Sound, Grass, etc. No shinobi from Mist, Cloud, Rock, etc were present. OP really just woke up and decided to spew complete, unfounded nonsense on the Internet, huh?

@@mattwayne9128 Villages originally held their own individual exams. Following the Third Shinobi World War, exams that are open to all villages started being held bi-annually. Kakashi was Jonin DURING the Third Ninja War, so he never faced other Hidden Village ninja in his exam, which we see during both Guy and Obito's individual flashback scenes. Their generation's Chunin Exam was held for Leaf ninja only. SOURCE: Naruto chapter 39, page 3. You seeing a cloud ninja during Kakashi's Chunin exam sounds like one of the many animater mistakes. I couldn't find the Minato prequel interview. I think that I made it the fck up 😎 but I'm pretty sure I read it somewhere and held it as fact. Edit: MINATO OFFICIALLY HAS A PREQUEL NOW!!!

This is why I feel filler content needs to be toward expanding characters like Sakumo, Shisui, Kushina's ability as a jonin etc. The Kakashi Anbu filler arc was *excellent* watching. Well written, animated, and paid attention to the details of the history it's set in. I put up there with providing much needed information of the character and other characters, that I personally considee it canon to the lore. Filler episodes content needs to include more meaningful content for lore heavy mangas like Naruto so that's we don't have all of these cool but incredibly vague characters.

What I find quite ironic is that Kakuzu (who also was done incredibly dirty by his village) is lowkey what Sakumo could've turned into if his spite overpowered his guilt and shame. Kakashi fighting him brought to my mind a scenario of rogue Sakumo who Kakashi has to face after many years.

The mother and father puppets are not made from Sasori's parents in the same way Sasori's later puppets are made from people. They are just puppets made in the image of his parents. That's why we never see them use any jutsu in the same way the third Kazekage puppet did.

Im pretty sure that sasori stated that he made his own parents as his first puppets so that he would feel like they were always around him. Remeber he had no one to look after him besides his grandma.

In this way i think sakumos white chakra being that colour is a stronger chakra than regular blue chakra, in this way as long as he use that chakra he can become faster and just blatantly more powerful than anyone, but he maybe can only use it with his blade, thats my theory on sakumos white chakra its white because its more powerful chakra than just everyones blue chakra, similarly with hashirama dark purple chakra, sasuke purple chakra, naruto orange chakra, kushina red chakra and minatos yellow chakra, i think the stronger you get the more your chakra colour changes giving your chakra and identity of its own, thats how i see it.

Definitely an underrepresented character in Naruto, based on the hype and legend. We got a sense of how great Minato and the first two Hokage were through their flashbacks and resurrections. We never did get any kind of explanation why Sakumo was such an icon. Would be interesting to see him matched up against enemies like the Third Kazekage or a younger Kakuzu.

I think sakumos white light chakra means his chakra is just stronger than regular blue chakra, we have seen in naruto that when a chakra is amped to a high degree, it change colour, we see this with cursemark with purple, sage mode, when naruto chakra mixes with kurama, it becomes an orange yellow chakra, we also see other characters that are inherently very powerful just have in general different colour chakra from birth rather than just the regular blue chakra

Well , yes we know very little. But we could use different info, as Jiraya told nature of chakra could be seen with your hair and chakra is could be succesed by your children...which means Sakumo is definitely lighthing type, also we knew that lightning counters sand and Sakumo killed some Shinobis of Sand which is another proof. Also the sword he beared is very short and it s on his back which means that sword is not for melee , it s for some jutsu. Maybe it was for enxtension of Raikiri? Or for some Earth style jutsu? Probably, that could help with lack defence during using Raikiri. So pretty shure that his figting style was similar to Kakashi's (minus Sharingan.)

He wasn't a traitor as far as we know--Danzo is definitely one of, if not the most, unreliable sources in the entire story. Sakumo was a coward though. Even with the extenuating circumstances we're told about regarding his mental health, it's nearly impossible to pardon a parent's decision of suicide when they have the responsibility of raising a young child of theirs (especially as a single parent). As soon as you become a parent your life is no longer solely your own--you've decided to bring another life into this world and it becomes your responsibility to see that life grow into adulthood.

Sakumo Hatakate wasn't a traitor he was a very respected ninja in the hidden leaf village, he went the suicide route because of what happened during the sand village, he was also there but In a different location when Nagato parents were murdered.

I don't mean to be weird about this, but think of this. San=3 in Japanese. Nin is how they refer to Shinobi. If there was a fourth "sannin" their title would change to chinin (pronounced chee nin) but that sounds too much like chunin
