Someone needs to make a collage of "Mitch faces". (The look of awe when Mitch sings.)
@hstppt4 жыл бұрын
I would watch that over and over. Although, I also like the anticipation, as they think each soloist is the one that blew them away, but I KNOW that their appreciation means I will get to see Mitch face.

It’s so weird because I can’t stand him in this song. I hate the note change on ‘who outdrew ya’ and I DESPISE that he would rather _look_ ‘cute’ lip syncing (the music video, not this performance) than actually attempting to look like he’s singing. He very hardly opens his mouth in the music video during his loudest and biggest solo part.

A little FYI: Mitch (countertenor) has a vocal range of 6 octaves plus 1 tone.--and his voice is angelic.

You didn't mention it (can't say everything), but Scott can also go very low, and he took over and filled in the bass line while Avi was singing lead. Pretty much seamless.

You can see it if you look over Avi's shoulder when he takes the lead. You can watch Scott provide the Bass line.

The transition of Avi doing the baseline to Scott picking it up, right before Avi starts his solo, is one of the most flawless handoffs I've ever seen in a live performance. It's incredible.

Tim from Home Free does it all the time, sorry.
@darquemode11654 жыл бұрын
@@annkline6183 True enough... but.... Personally, I don't think Tim has the same heaviness, resonance, and warmth at his low notes as Avi does. Still insanely impressive, but more growl-based and breathy IMO. That said, Tim is still my favorite a capella base (and Home Free my fav a capella group) to hear doing the more "instrumental" or percussive base notes during songs.

No only they are all amazing, unique, distinct singers and performers but their arrangements are always amazing, complex, sophisticated, emphasizing their strengths but always at the service of the song. Except for a couple of little riffs from each member, this is an almost note-for-note live remake of their magnificent studio version, proving they can do it just as well live with no studio tricks necessary! I don't know how much you do know, but their official video of Hallelujah has nearly 600,000,000 views !! Their catalog of songs is massive and has nearly 7.5 BILLION views. They have over 400 videos; 3 Grammys; many records, concerts, and 4 world tours (complete sellouts). If you've done other reactions to them, I haven't been able to find them....but, if this is your first, then you're missing the best Acapella group who are the ones that revolutionized this genre. Kevin Olusola, the beatboxer is probably the most talented of the entire group, but is underrated by many because he sings infrequently. He is s superb cellist, rapper, record producer, singer, and songwriter. He is known for developing "celloboxing" which is playing the cello while beatboxing, which he has done is several of the PTX videos. Here is a video that shows his multiple talents in his performance of "Down" : kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3jNmGRvaM1nhc0 He was pre-med, graduated from Yale University, and speaks fluent Mandarin.
