A couple of videos have been blocked globally, including the Masaaki Iwane AMV. Now I realize why I didn't upload any AMVs anymore...

You could always upload them to the internet archive!

I really wish he did more supervision on Z, loved seeing his art pop up cause all the proportions to characters looked really pleasing

Nakatsaru's animation always felt like a Norio Matsumoto with a consistent art style

Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru for me is the best, he have a style like Akira Toriyama sensei, he have also a trait very faithful to Papa Toriyama. Thank you nakatsuru kun for providing wonderful Animations 😊☺️😀👍😄

Sato draws his eyebrows thicker and the pupils larger than Nakatsura sometimes. In Movie 7 and episode 164 it's more noticeably. Sato even draws the chins more broney and the noses are larger too. You would have look at both of work side by side to tell.

@@dbanimators that's u, but those corrections into stiff asf poses just hurt, he got better at not being a dick during the black saga tho.

Yamamuro was definitely a heated soup, but modern Nakatsuru isn't as satisfactory as back in the glory days. The latest two movies were the rightful opportunity to place their bets on new names, and we do get a 61-year-old youngster to handle model sheets. I'm simply not into this decision, in fact I quite dislike this constant nostalgia-seeking behavior.

@@dbanimators that's true, but it does feel kinda nice to actually see my boy back again, one of my favorite animators.

I don't mean to turn off your expectations, it's just DB is essentially doing the opposite One Piece did: while they replaced a finished artist like Hisada with Matsuda, DB still believes past can be brought back in present time, even after so many years. It's not dissimilar to bands like Metallica, who think they're still able to create the new Master of Puppets 37 years later. Nakatsuru was a competent artist in the '90s, his GT model sheets were amongst the only salvageable things of that unfortunate happening, but I don't like how pretentious his modern artwork looks. Again, I hope I'll be wrong, but at the moment I'm skeptical.
