I've added tons of book to my "want to read" list on Goodreads because you talked about them in your videos!
@phoenix3911 жыл бұрын
I've had to do that. For future reference, I recommend packing half the box with books and the top half with clothes, so the boxes won't be so heavy.

Watching your video in 2016. you looked different then. hehe nice video as always! :)

Gosh, I been in bookstores browsing for hours also. An hour, is like 10 minutes, lol. I need an entire afternoon! I love Goodreads, yay! I find a ton of great books through Goodreads and KZbin.

Yes so many of us; Booktubers. It's fun to talk about books.

Yes! All but The Diviners and Along For The Ride were new to me. I'm adding The Black Jewels Trilogy and Ruby Red to my TBR! Oh, and another cool bookish website is smalldemons, check it out!

Dude you need to come to Portland, OR because we have Powells! The biggest independent bookstore in America that takes up two huge city blocks and has like a million staircases and a quadruple trillion books of every kind! Used and new, hardcover and paperback, all on the same shelf, open 365 days a year and staffed by knowledgeable and dedicated book lovers. Rare books, very new and very old, signed copies, first editions. Plus you can sell your old books back to them!

What about libraries and library site searches? I find that is one of my favorite ways to find new books and authors, especially if i'm not sure if I'll like it or not.

Love your channel! You will surely encourage the love of books in all who cross your path. I am from Portland. Home of the infamous Powell's City of Books. Someone should start a channel that shows tours of Indie bookstores from across the U.S., and if possible from around the world. I would watch that channel. On my trip to England as a younger lass my favorite thing about this beautiful country was all their beautiful bookstores! I am rambling. Sorry. Love the channel. Keep the awesome vids

At my independent bookstore they always recommend little known books. I always check out the books they have recommended. At indie bookstores the people who work there always help with recommending books :)
@jkmacrunnel11 жыл бұрын
You are hilarious! lol I spend most of my time on Goodreads, although I'm trying to spend more time on here. I find a lot of indie or self published authors, and I've found some great books! Also blog tours--you can subscribe by email to certain newsletters of blog tour hosts, and you may find new books that way! I also added you on my Goodreads :)

Speaking of industry sources, it's a good idea to subscribe to the Publisher's Weekly email newsletter. They have a general one that's daily and a children's/YA one that's weekly, I believe.
@thesunwentred11 жыл бұрын
YES IT IS EXACTLY LIKE THAT! But, be careful, you can get lost/lose hours in there! I know I have! My dad used to take me there every weekend and it has a super special place in my heart. Well, don't you want to sell back the books that you didn't like? Then you can have more money to buy more books?
@LBM225511 жыл бұрын

Kat, for the nearest bookstore that OWNS good books I have to travel 1,5 hour, that's also the nearest place that has a Starbucks here...
@felinedreamer16856 жыл бұрын
Kat... you lucky the closest star-bucks to my town is 31km of distance. T-T and in my city there are only 3 bookstores, technically there are 4 but two are inside a shopping mall so yeah.

Come hang out with me in real life at Powells! Books and friends irl! Plus, Portland is a really cool town. You should make a video about finding good deals on Amazon! Like where are these "bargain books" or special "4 for 3 paperback" sections? Hah! I peer pressured you in to using Goodreads again and now you love it lol! #DoubleShotKat Tell us what booktubers you like! How many books do you own?
