How did I not know there was such a thing as book tubers? I've literally spent the last 3 days watching your videos. You're like a cyclone force of reading nature! Not only have you inspired me to try a bunch of new series, but you've also inspired me to incorporate a character named Kat in one of my future Nano novels. (I'm thinking she'll have a dyslexic best friend who calls her Tak.) I've already shared your videos with my whole Nano writing group and they LOVE you! Why can I not "like" this video more than once??????

I happened by Grady's signing completely by accident when I went over to Quirk to thank Eric for sending me Ian Doescher's The Jedi Doth Return. I'm really looking forward to reading Horrorstör. Alas, there was not - but I caught it the next morning!

I also dislike chapter samples. Like you, I think it's pointless. I will be wanting a lot more if I read it. I prefer waiting for the entire book. Don't worry, you're not the only one to think like that! Horrorstör seems really original! I like originality! I hope Scott Westerfield is going to name his next book like he told you. I would be so nice to know the story behind the title and I guess you would be so happy. I would be such a beautiful story! Love the bloopers at the end. Great video Kat, as always :)
@1alazydaisy10 жыл бұрын
Chapter samplers are only good if its the first book. It gives you a taste if the writing is going to interest you, but not the final. If you care about the final, you're going to buy it anyways. Samplers make the waiting even more aggravating.

Those first-chapter-thingies are very common in Germany and you can get those in almost every bookstore here although most of the books are already out. The purpose is that you can start reading the book without buying it, so you can see if you like the writing style or you find the story interesting. But I myself do not like them either, to be honest. :D
@theotherveronica10 жыл бұрын
With the 39 Clues you're really getting into something. It's a really entertaining series and all the books are really short, but they're trying so hard to drag it on. There's 10 books in the first series with an 11th book that acts as a transition book. Then the 2nd series has 6 books and now there's a 3rd series that has 3 books. I have only read to book 5 of the 2nd series. SO like I said, they are good books but you really may just want to read the first 10 books. *wow that was a super long comment oops* I really want to read Since You've Been Gone soooo bad! You got so many awesome opportunities! Go you!

My thoughts on chapter samplers. Fine when it's the first book in a series or a stand alone (I'd like to see if I'll want to pick up the full book) but if it's the last in a series or something the noooooo, I want a book not a sample.
