I have been avoiding the Percy Jackson series for a while. However, everyone seems to really enjoy it. I might read the series sometime this summer. That little blurb you gave made me a little more excited to try it.

Fallen gets much better when you stick with it. It took me maybe 5 tries to get into it but when I did I was quite surprised about how good it was. Try and give it another shot please!

I'm almost afraid to say this, but I actually like the Fallen series. I thought that it was a decent first book, and the series got better with each book. They are slow to read, the chapters are long, but that is made up for with rather large font. Rapture, the fourth and final book in the series is, I think, the best one, and the ending is just beautiful. It couldn't have ended any other way, in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, though. You'll have to come to your own decision on whether or not to read it.

I totally agree! It is one of those series where you have a long build up, but the last book is beautiful and worth all of the time you spent on the other 3. It has so many twist and turns, it makes you constantly re-evaluate your guesses. The story is truly one of those simple love stories, but with excitement at every page.

i also agree... the fourth book is my favorite and it doesnt end in a expected way and yes the first book did take a while to read but it was worth it for where the story continued in the next books

You're not the only one. I actually sometimes shake my head when I like a book that is trashed by others, but then they like a book and I'm like... huh? Why would you like that book. It all comes down to taste, and jumping into bandwagons. People criticize Fallen, and if it's enough people, they will make you feel bad for liking it. I thought Fallen was nice. I loved the description, it is what mainly enchanted me. I'm not usually big on description, but this book made me fall for it. It was beautiful and dark. And fallen angels... that should be enough.

Olga Guevara I know what you mean. I mean, I'm trying really hard to read Throne of Glass, because of all the hype it's received, but I'm struggling with it. I don't know why. Maybe because so many people like Dorian and I don't. I don't particularly like Chaol either, but there is a Team Dorian and Team Chaol, just like there was with Twilight and Edward and Jacob, and it's rather annoying. Anyway with all the hype this series has, I feel kind of bad that I'm not really liking it. I had to stop reading the novellas, because I just didn't like them.

I must say I ike the fallen series. I agree that it's kinda slow to read but it gets better once the story starts properly. And it gets better and more interesting with every book and the third one is really interesting. So yeah you should definitely read more and hang in there because it gets better.

i read fallen like ages ago and i really enjoyed it. i can understand at first the story doesn't really seem good, but it is, to me at least. but i guess if you tried to read like 100 pages and you didn't like it at all, then you shouldn't pick it up again because you'd only waste your time. i love your videos by the way! (sorry for my english, i'm italian and i'm still learning!)

I had the exact same feeling about the Percy Jackson series. Loved it so much! Still haven't read the spin-off series, but I'm hoping that since those events take place after the Olympians series they will be a little more YA and include some more serious subjects..

Unearthly caused me so much trouble oh my gosh. I saw the synopsis in a library one time and had put it back because I couldn't carry anymore books and forgot to mark the name or author. And then I spent a year searching the library for it with only the synopsis to help me. It took a long time, but I found it and I love the series so much!

I enjoyed fallen but I was 15 when I read it and I'm 19 now so I don't know if I'll like it now I mostly liked it for the history which is why the third book was my favourite but to be honest the two main characters didn't really stick out to me and my favourite character was Cam who unfortunately Lauren Kate didn't take any where. I will watch the movie though just to see how they portray the book. :)

I really enjoyed Fallen. I know you like Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and I found both series were relatively similar. DoSaB was better, but Fallen is really good too. I think it just takes a couple more books to get into it.

Totally agree with what you said though, Fallen is so awful (even back then I thought so) but I remember loving Unearthly and have the other two somewhere on my book shelf. SO WEIRD, when you were talking about Unearthly being an angel book, my mind wandered to thoughts of Fallen, and then whatdya know, Fallen is in this video too! So eerie. I personally loved Fallen so much - in the beginning. And then the further I got into the book and as it revealed that it was about angels I got really mad at how predictable and cliche it was and gave the book away when I finished.

The Fallen Series is like my Twilight Series. A LOT of people dislike it and you know I get why people wouldn't like it but its the second series I actually completed and I just remember being so engrossed when reading those books and yes since then I have read much better books but I still love the fallen series....
