I remember reading Dr. Katz' NYT article in early March and I posted it all over my social media pages begging friends and loved ones to listen. They didn't and they still won't. I've given up on convincing others, but I haven't given up on following Dr. Katz as he's been spot on from the beginning. Thank you, doctor, for being an unwavering voice of reason.

Unfortunately we don't seem to be handling "the testing" very well. It's freaking us all out, we're hysterical over asymptomatic college cases. More testing may cause more panic.
@hmccluer14 жыл бұрын
Could the cycles of amplification in the testing be to high to get the positive respond to the SARS-CoV 2 virus? Do the tests only detect SARS-CoV 2 virus? rt-pcr tests can not tell you if you have an actual infection, only the patient with symptoms.
@udthesciencedude25924 жыл бұрын
More testing is needed tho, asymptomatic patients need to know if they are infected. The main problem is that new outlets create fear and panic with that information

What is the role of the apparent unreliability of PCR testing in the rise of cases? I've seen some interesting explanations from Dr. Mullis himself about how PCR works and I wonder if we're over reacting to what may be a 'casedemic'? Also regarding the TGBD (which I humbly signed as a citizen), unfortunately, the British government apparently rejected it. Canada, where I live, is showing more signs of simply instituting a 'lockdown and mask up' policy which strikes me as somewhat, well, unenlightened.

Paul Khrooger as a mother of two teenagers, I cannot agree more. This is going to sound harsh, but it is extremely short sighted and frankly asinine to me that we are willing sacrifice so much if our children’s lives and futures for the sake of our old. Our young are the future of this country. They are going to be a hot mess when this is all done. And what will we be leaving them with? A subpar education, a lack of interpersonal skills, and an economic ruin that will ensure that they know nothing but struggle for years. They should be our TOP priority to invest in. Their needs should come first and foremost.

@@justylex I have a 15 year-old daughter. I see it as psychological abuse. No one is speaking for them. Only paediatricians oppose what's being done to them but there's not enough of an outcry because fear is driving policy. Paul Khrooger my daughter is 15 as well😊. I also have an 18 yr old son who just attended his high school ‘grad’ today with nobody in the audience but my husband and I, the Principal, and a photographer🙄. They did everything they could to keep the kids miles apart, and then 5 minutes after they were done, the whole bunch of them were hanging out on my driveway😂 My son is doing his first year of University online. Not exactly the first year experience he was looking forward to.

What exactly is the problem with referring to the "testing" of asymptomatic people with low-tech methods as "screening" (which is the natural corollary of a risk-stratified approach)? And where are the "harm reduction" people when it comes to the tens of thousands of influenza/pneumonia deaths that have occurred annually in the U.S. for years?

Dr. Katz, Do you or any of the qualified doctors that authored of the Great Barrington Document getting the ear of our government public health authorities (either national or state)? Does Fauci, Biden, or Trump have access to this and have they responded to this apolitical, dispassionate call for a win win strategy? This would be a soothing balm to our nation in this current super charged atmosphere of fear and anxiety. This strategy has hope, and compassion for all! Do you have any plans to help get this message to the people that can lead us and implement? What can I do to help? Dr. Paul Schattauer, Oak Park IL.

No pandemic can ever, or has ever ended by hiding in lock-down or behind a mask. Not possible, by the laws of biology, it will only prolong suffering and kill far more people in the long term. The absolute only update and/or conversation without political bias, using scare tactics and non-scientific data, must be exclusively about... Protecting the very small subset population of the most vulnerable, susceptible people who should take necessary precautions (focused protection) and allowing the virus to run its natural course. Allowing the infection to pass through the general healthy population, that effectively have almost a zero percent chance of serious infection and or long term effects. This is the Only way to completely neutralize the viral virulence. Prolonged isolation of the elderly or people in care homes is nothing less than inhumane and should be considered crimes against humanity. Naturally acquired Herd immunity is not an objective opinion or hypothesis, a theory, a strategy or a debate, it is biological law, like gravity or the laws of thermodynamics. Empirical biological law such as herd immunity is the absolute truth, it never changes, alters or wavers or is effected by political human agenda, it exists and occurs whether anyone believes in it or not! The strangest phenomenon to be witnessed in this century at such a colossal scale, is "Science Denialisim". (refusal to accept and ultimately deny, /even in the science community/ established fundamental, empirical science and facts.) Bluntly stated: ignorance perpetuates irrational fear, fueled primarily by the hyper hysterics of this internet era. There has never in history been an effective Cor/virus vaccine, caused by two fundamental factors, antigenic shift (mutation, generating virulence dilution) and acquired antibody immunity, that occurs far more rapidly than any vaccine can be developed, tested and globally distributed. In other words, any vaccines that are being developed right now as we speak, are already dated and ineffective. The high case counts with low casualty numbers are a normal predictable pattern of all Corona viral outbreaks. The virus has drastically weakened virulence from T-Cell antibody immune response to massive population infection spread and saturation, to the extent it becomes, to the vast majority, nothing more than another common cold like annoyance. Because the SARS-COV-2 virus is now at the epidemiological low level virulence classification, what is known in epidemiology as the pathogen endemic equilibrium phase. (viral stasis) All future focus should be towards (MPIE) mass population immunization by exposure, (herd immunity) from the healthy population, at as normal a rate as possible, in order to protect the most vulnerable health population. Any deviation from this narrative from the scientific community will only prolong the suffering and cost more lives to be lost. Instead of trying desperately to prove to the world that they were right, it is long overdue time for all scientists to admit consensus and follow the exact public health protocol that has been unspokenly used for every pandemic in modern history, whereas naturally acquired population immunity (herd immunity) is the principal driving force and Not in refute.

Please ask the authors of the Great Barringon Declaration, who are without a doubt all highly qualified medical professionals to add references to their points wherever possible. Even though I am with them for most of their arguments I find it astonishing that such a high body of medical professionals would not make this declaration look more than an article from a medical publication. It needs to look more professional. What is their position on a vaccine? A crucial point that was omitted. Well, I signed it anyways, on the hopes it will still get “polished up” after a few days of being “out there” and having received a few days of feedback and criticism.
