For those who believe that good things can happen....
For decades the history of the guitar has been an almost exclusive North American affair. The combination of a developing musical culture and their pioneering spirit made America the natural habitat of the electric guitar. Or so we are made to believe. Now more and more evidence is emerging that we may have missed something altogether. And that Europe in fact, has had its own iconic guitar. This is the story of the search for that guitar.

Sometimes a story is just too good to be true. And although we wish that the histories of the Cozy and Cosette were real; they are not. We have made it all up. Why? Because we wanted to put the cultural roots of the guitar firmly in the 1960’s. We believe that a great guitar should have a great story. We think that the story about Cosette and her guitar is entertaining and in our minds it certainly could have happened.
There is another reason for creating a legendary story around a great guitar. Although we love old guitars and do our best to create new old guitars every day, we sometimes feel that the legends are larger than the guitars. And yet we all are gravitated to the story of the ‘old’ guitar. And because most of those came from the US, a lot of guitarists believe that the US is like the holy grounds of guitar building.
And while that may have been true decades ago, we know for a fact that Europe now has some great guitar manufacturers. Just to name a few; Patrick James Eggle, Allister Atkin, Nick Huber, Panucci Guitars, Haar Guitars, Maybach, Lakewood and the list goes on. Each of these are just as good and, in some cases, maybe even a little better than the legendary US brands. And we believe it is time that we recognise that and pay more tribute of our own European guitar building culture.
So, here we have it, two stories of the same guitar. Now it is time to start your story with the Cozy. We hope the Cozy will reach many guitarists. And inspire them to make more beautiful music. We hope that one day there will be a real history to tell. About the guitar. And about its first players who over the next decades may become the new Jimi, Pete, Chuck, Kurt, Eddy, John or Joe. Who will that be? And which Cozy will they play?
