Kudos to your videos brother, humble, no drama, straight to the point. Im a Btech Automobile Engg graduate working for 11 years in the same industry in India and aspiring to move to Germany. However even with my work experience, im finding it extremely hard to find any jobs there. Even when I do, I never get a chance for an interview. I figured a master's from Germany might be the only way im going to have a fair chance at an interview there. Therefore I am applying for 2 universities there for this Summer intake (Electromobility from FAU Erlangen, International Automotive Engg and Automotive Production Engg from Techniche Hochschule Ingolstadt) having collected all required docs like APS, A2 German etc. Albeit my modest Btech score (only 70%) im hoping they consider my work experience in the same field as significant and accept my application. What are your thoughts on this?
@bongingermanyАй бұрын
After 11 years, it can be very very difficult to go back to study. But it depends on your will and motivation ofcourse. Applying to 2 universities only can be very risky, because applicant numbers are huge. You may not get selected by small margins. Also, since you have such a huge study gap, your motivation letter must be really good in portraying why you want to go back to study. Otherwise, they can reject also.

Hey Kaustav, great video! I just want some clarity about earning as an MS student. You mentioned in the video that working as a university assistant doesn’t count toward the 140 full days of work. So, if I work in the university, I can still work other part-time jobs for up to 20 hours per week. With part-time jobs, I’d earn around 13 euros per hour for 140 days, plus any extra income from the university assistant role. Is that possible?

I said working during the semester break doesn’t count towards your 140 days. But even if you work at the university, during semesters it is still counted.

@@bongingermany If I work 10 hours per week in a mini-job (earning €520 monthly, tax-free) and 10 hours in another part-time job (€13/hour), I'll earn around €6,000 tax-free from the mini-job and €7,200 from the part-time job. Since €7,200 is below the €11,608 tax-free allowance, I'll avoid taxes. So, my total annual earnings would be about €13,200. Is this calculation correct?

Maybe its not right, I wanted to inquire about your salary range back in 2020. Are you still sending money to your family in India? If so, have you compared your previous savings with your current financial situation in Indian currency, considering you transfer funds to India? Why Do you think a salary range of 65,000-70,000 EUR is insufficient for starting a job after completing a master's degree? Would your savings now not be better compared to your previous job? Additionally, if living in Germany does not suit you, isn’t it possible to return to India and claim the pension contributions you deposited here? In light of these considerations, why do you feel it might not be beneficial to come to Germany? Just curuous after seeing your video.
@bongingermanyАй бұрын
Good point. Happy to see someone bring a really valid point. As mentioned in my video, a salary of 65000-70000 is much better than what I was saving in India and also living in Germany has other perks too…but what I wanted to point out in this video is that coming with a masters and then joining a job can get you a lower salary. On the other hand, coming first with a job can get you a salary more than 65-70k , considering you have an experience of 7-8 years already.

@randdomnerdАй бұрын
Lets take this scenario. Imagine u don't know good enough german (maybe a b2 level) and someone native also applies for the same PM role. the company would prefer the native guy. And if u are thinking that u would get an English speaking job, then wake up mate. For english jobs u wont be the only one applying. there would be thousands if not lakhs of people applying for that job across the country. also mind u having connections works so well in Germany. So yes knowing Deutsch is such a plus point. just give an hr or 45 mins per day and u should be good to go.
@bongingermanyАй бұрын
@randomnerd is correct. I second that. Also, for Product Manager roles you would mostly need to speak to clients and stakeholders, so English roles would be very very less. Naturally competition would be very high. For software engineers and purely technical roles, the situation is a bit better because there is no interaction needed with clients / stakeholders.
