I play with CN voiceover and the moment I heard Kaveh speak Wei Wuxian came into my mind.. the way Alhaitham dealt with him reminded me a bit of Lan Wangji as well (the way he didn't rise his eyes to look at him and was still reading his book, completely ignoring some of his remakes and lecturing him about the 'right thing to do' lmao) but not as much as Kaveh! this is why he is a must pull for me!! edit: typo :D

KR Kaveh’s my favourite one but I think the argument as a whole sounds best in EN. The way Alhaitham sounds so sarcastic and Kaveh’s reaction to it just plays out so perfectly in English lol. EN Al Haitham’s my most favourite too.

@@beckhammaitran671 1) Neither of the dubs nor the sub sounds like it’s fun bickering and I don’t believe there is anything officially indicating that it’s supposed to be that way. Alhaitham’s purposefully riling up Kaveh and Kaveh’s responding to it in his emotionally sensitive way. As a Southeast Asian who’s had exposure to all four languages in media as long as I could remember, I would know whether it is just “fun bickering” or “hating each other’s guts” and this is neither. 2) No, English does not sound like the characters hate each other’s guts. Even Korean sounds a little bit more aggressive than English (BUT not in the “hates each other’s guts” kind of way. Just aggressive). It’s probably just your general hatred for English dub projecting itself onto how you perceived the scene. 3) Please for the love of anything fantasy, please leave us alone the next time you see someone else saying we enjoy anything in English dub. I agree with acknowledging obvious flaws in English dub, but come on man, not everything English dub does is a fault. It’s getting tiring.

Kaveh's english VA (Ben Balmaceda) is friends with Alhaitham's english VA (Nazeeh Tarsha) IRL. According to Ben, when he was recording, he tried to play off what he thought Nazeeh would do with the script, and because they know each other well he was pretty spot on.

I thought EN one is the most emotional one. And to say their bickering should be fun. Bruh did you finish their story, they literally hate some part of each other. But that doesn’t mean they don’t accept each other and argue though, it’s probably a dynamic that you get then you get it.

I LOVE Alhaitham's KR dub, heard it just because I decided to try KR months ago. And now knowing Kaveh's is *chef's kiss* perfect too? I ain't never changing the dub again, that emotion and inflection is EVERYTHING! ... I remembered why I switched. Paimon. 💀 and bored of the JP one. Best decision ever, never turning back. Why's EN alhaitham so nasally anyway? (His VA doesn't sound like that normally.) it makes me think 🤓. Sorry to anyone who happened to read this. Sound is very important to me. In my opinion, I prefer JP, KR and CN kaveh. Like he knows when he need to put his emotional state well. The EN one make Kaveh looks like a child who likes throwing tantrum. Even he's so emotional, he wasn't as dramatic as that. Also let's put alhaitham VA too. The EN Alhaitham heard so mean to Kaveh, so for me, they sounds having a fight like married couple who want divorced. Meanwhile JP, CN, and KR alhaitham sounds he like teasing Kaveh and it make me think they're cute.

Personally I find the English far too exaggerated, even in this scene English portrays it as genuine anger as if they’re fighting. Meanwhile the rest are lighthearted banter between 2 friends. It’s like they don’t even bother referencing the original CN lines.
