@@katoratic Apparently Jeffree Starr would charge $47 for a meet and greet which also included a bag of products that could be found on his website for almost the cost of his meet and greet. He's well known and been around for a long time. The products themselves which were included in his goodie bags are probably quite cheap to make so in reality probably didn't dent his profit margin too much but the point I'm trying to make is that if he can do a similar tour with meet and greets at $47 (taking into account he most likely has a bigger entourage to pay than this kid from KZbin, yet he can do it for $47 and still profit?? You can see that this kid is being extremely greedy and seriously overpricing to the point where he's making a mockery of his fan base, because he knows his audience are naive enough to pay out for it. Not exactly the actions of someone who appreciates the people that gave him that platform in the first place. He sounds like an A class douche to me and another 'trend' that will be forgotten about in a few years time when the next one comes along, and that's when he will regret taking advantage of his fans the way he is doing now. I gotta disagree with you on this video, man. This is a long comment, but I'd love to hear your response if you do get the chance. Let me preface this by saying that general admission is nowhere near $500. Imagine if the likes of Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber or Katy Perry offered a literal meet-and-greet ticket, it would be upwards of $1200+. $100 for a general admission tour ticket is commonplace from what I've seen over the past few years. Before you read the rest, I'm not a big fan of James Charles at all - I'm a straight guy and don't have interest in make-up content, but I still respect him, his success and his stance on the issue of lack of respect for online content creators by mass media. I do feel that KZbinrs deserve to be ranked just as high as these singers, comedians and actors in the economic world - they put in just as much work but get paid less and get a heck of a lot less credit compared to 'famous people' who have their teams do literally everything, they just turn up. As a creator yourself, don't you resonate with that? You charge $50 for a hoodie you've created through your company BEB Apparel, and after a quick look around at printing prices and the cost of those plain hoodies per unit - those profit margins are phenomenal. It's not a bad thing what you're doing, it's capitalism and it's how humanity has worked since the dawn of trade. I really do think that $500 is a reasonable price for a meet-and-greet, the guys time is worth money in general. Remember that saying about Bill Gates? If Bill Gates dropped $100 on the ground, it would cost him more money to turn around and pick it up, rather than just continue his productive day. Not that James Charles is comparable to Bill Gates, but the principle is still there. This world runs on supply and demand, and the demand is there, so James is just doing what everybody else in his position is. For example, Kevin Hart's recent tour cost $250 per general admission ticket; just to sit in a crowd of thousands of people and hear him talk. He's got a platform (demand) and he's being clever about it. Even just offering a meet and greet is pretty kind if you ask me, when most people with that level of influence wouldn't dare host a meet and greet. I know for a fact that if Kevin Hart did one, tickets would cost an absolute arm and a leg. Most importantly, I just don't think spreading negativity is the answer to how you feel about this. I have to say that I dislike that you had already set up your camera and had an entire rant planned about this persons character, before you had even checked the website to know what his tour was even about. You've been doing such a fantastic job with your new news show, so in my mind - you have set a standard for yourself of properly researching topics before addressing them, and this fell really below the bar. I do understand your frustration, I see where you're coming from, I like you and enjoy your content - so obviously this comment is a conversation piece, I'm not having a go at you. Maybe it’s because I live in Las Vegas.. but a show ticket out here for general admission is upwards of $200. Rolling Stones sells tickets up to $5000 each and even bands I would never see in my life like, One Direction’s average ticket is $450. And these don’t even include getting anything to take home. James Charles has over 16.4 million subscribers and even more than that in fans.. I personally don’t think $500 is that much for a VIP ticket lol I’d pay that to come see you kavos. 💁‍♀️
