This is genuinely one of the most enjoyable and useful reviews I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. It answered every question I had about the instrument plus some, gave a proper, clear demonstration of the various sounds the instrument produces, and kept everything clear and concise. I almost want to watch it a second time haha. Thanks for helping sell me on this piano.

I can see a lot of students getting this. Personally, and it is personal feel subjectivity I find the action on these better than other brands. Couple that with features, sound, quality and the amazing price and for me it's very difficult to best this. The people at Kawai are doing a very good job at sustainability imo. The videos from Bonners are extremely well done too and of course people normally would not buy one of these on line without physically trying it so the recording method of this video is not so important.

can you guys do a comparison of this one KDP-110 with YDP-163 and PX-870? PX-870 seems doesn't have Miscellaneous on their feature and what is Miscellaneous anyway? Also, PX-870 can play 256 polyphony which is more than the other 2 but what are the overall qualities of these 3?

Hello, thank you for a great review. I decided to buy a digital piano at this price point and have 3 choices to consider: this Kawai and Casio's AP-270 and AP-470. I've heard them in a dealer near me and in fact there are quite similar. I found that keyboard in Kawai is quite noisy (compared to the Yamaha YDP 163). Do you also have such impression? I tried also YDP 163, but in my opinion its sound is noticeably worse than on Kawai and Casio. On the other side, Casio has string resonance while Kawai not. PS. Can anyone tell me the name of the piece played for the main grand piano sound (from 3:00)? :)
@bonnersmusic6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the Comment! The KDP110 does have a slightly noisier action than the Casios, but it is certainly not as noisy as a real acoustic piano action which due to its mechanical nature is much noisier than many people realise. To be honest you will not really notice this difference once the piano is being played. I find the action on the Kawai excellent at replicating the feel of an acoustic piano. I believe you can adjust the string resonance on the Kawai using the Virtual Technician App once you connect to the piano via Bluetooth amongst many other settings that can also be altered using this Application. The sound in the Kawai and that Casio AP470 is fantastic for a piano in this price range. The feel is very much about personal preference. I would recommend coming to our showroom and spending some time with the models in order to find out which you prefer.

Hello. I'm an advanced piano player, and I already have an acoustic upright piano in the living room. I'm looking for a digital piano - around 1000 EUR - that I can place in my bedroom, so that i can study with headphones on, and also record myself etc. I'm trying to decide between Kawai KDP110 (CN-17) and Yamaha YDP-S54. I'm also thinking about Kawai CN-29 but its a bit expensive so it would be a bit of a stretch for me. I absolutely love the Kawai sound, but I'm torn between the RH - II Kawai action and the GH3 action on the yamaha, which is supposed to be more of a high-end key action. Is the Kawai CN17 action less realistic than the one on the Yamaha S54? I also kinda prefer the lighter touch the Kawai pianos seem to have, since my acoustic piano's touch is already heavy. I still want the feel and sound of an acoustic piano as much as possible. What do u think i should pick?

Please review the Casio ap-470, I really like it's style. How It is compared to the Kawai kdp110? Is the Kawai much better?
@bonnersmusic6 жыл бұрын
The most obvious differences between the Casio AP470 and the Kawai KDP110 is the lid that opens on the AP470, allowing for a wider spread of sound from the new more powerful speaker system, as well as the addition of Bluetooth connectivity that is on the Kawai. It would be difficult to separate the two models in terms of specification outside of these two things. The rest is purely down to personal preference. I would recommend trying the models side by side to see which action you prefer and which tone is most suited to your taste. Both of these models offer amazing quality at a very affordable price.

Cn29 is above kdp110, and is almost twice the price. It has a triple sensor while kdp has a dual, meaning you don’t have to release a note for as long before touching it again for it to make a sound. It really depends on the budget

I have to say, I was prepared to be disappointed. Unbalanced should be ok for a pair of monitor speakers, anyway :D I really am looking for a slab type piano in this price range, either from Yamaha or Kawai, but there isn't one, but I might be able to cram this somewhere, haha. Also, last question. Are the outputs for left and right separate? or a single TRS? Thank you!
@rdboon4 жыл бұрын
@@bonnersmusic I don't understand your response here. This piano has no stereo out, it has no AUX/Line out for sending the stereo sound out via audio. It only has midi, and this is well documented and mentioned in other reviews. Unfortunately if you want to record the audio you would need to use the headphone socket, which is poor for such purposes, or mic it.

I've had this piano for a year. I don't understand how you can think the keys don't feel textured. They are most definitely textured with an ivory feel. It's quite noticeable in direct comparison to glossy plastic covered keys found other keybeds. It's a joy to play to be honest.
