Kawai Kenji's music in the original Fate adaptation i feel i remember more 13 years later than i do the music of newer series like UBW or Fate/Zero. The music resonates so much with my vision of what the Fate franchise is and this theme encapsulates that vision to a tee.

Yeah. UBW soundtrack aside from the EMIYA remix and the Disillusion remix was rather forgettable. Zero and Heaven’s Feel though show that they’ve learned as both those have much more memorable soundtracks.

@@netomoreira3525 Yeah, if anything the viewer would demand to hear more of those tracks. Zero and HF is memorable because Kaijura regurgitates over and over the same leit motifs. Fukasawa tried to give everyone their own distinctive thing and in place his ost felt too scattered, specially because there were too many tracks even for a two cour anime and the sound mixing had them too low in volume.

"Ocean of Memories" is probably the most memorable OST of Ufotable era. but honestly ufotable adaptations lack memorable music. FGO has like 100x more memorable music, even some throwaway untitled OST of fGO are better than ufotable tracks. but yeah this one is GOATed

This soundtrack by Kenji Kawai, and the bits from the Fate route that I love and appreciate, and the sheer fact that I love these characters so much no matter what in the end...these are the reasons I can no longer simply dismiss Fate/Stay Night (2006). I've given it a lot of thought, and as much as I love what ufotable has done with Fate since then, I have to acknowledge that those wouldn't exist without this, not really. It'd be like trying to dismiss Fullmetal Alchemist (2003). It just can't be done. I can't put this one in my top 10, but it definitely has a place next to the other Fate works on my anime shelf.

Brotherhood may be more faithful and just overall superior in many ways, but I'll always remember the 2003 anime fondly, especially for its music.

Zerotrance11 Kinda wish aniplex would get the rights from sentai and redub it the same way viz media's redubbing the old sailor moon series along with crystal, or the way they redubbed akira, since i consider the voices from the aniplex dubs for fate to be the better dubbing product, but i know that'd likely never happen. so the only way i get any continuity in terms of voice-acting out of the 2006 version is if i go sub instead on it, since the japanese voices are the same in all three fate anime adapted thus far (save for like one or two). i'm kinda weirdly particular that way.

+adoranymphlupin I think DEEN did a good job with the F/SN Anime, but kind of a bleh job with the UBW movie. Then again it's harder to fill the contents of an entire route into a single movie without rushing and missing feelings conveyed by the VN. Ufotable did an amazing job with the UBW and F/Z series.

Zero Strife I would agree with that, trying to squeeze UBW into a single film was not the best idea, regardless of whether they were going on the assumption that people had already seen the original F/SN or read the VN. That said, I am excited to see ufotable do Heaven's Feel as a trilogy. Yeah, the wait'll be forever, but it'll be worth it, and with three movies, you get room for the story to breathe which is good for how long and complex HF is. It's a good balance.

not gonna lie, ufotable's UBW was good, but it's honestly repetitive as fuck. The deen movie was rushed but at least it got the point with things, I didn't even mind it.I did read the VN and it too suffers from repetition. Deen's adaptations surprisingly didn't feel that way

though kenji kawai used the same tune from 0:28 for other soundtracks, it's an amazing tune as it represents the story of Saber and Shirou so well. No doubt, this show might have had shit animation and it may have inserted elements from UBW and HF, but honestly, i still really loved this anime. this anime gets a worse rep than it really should get

actually combining all three routes made sense, I watched the anime first then played the VN and honestly I liked the anime better. they mixed a big part of Unlimited Blade works into Fate route and little bit of Heaven's Feel. my opinion is that this adaptation is far the best adaptation of Fate series. UBW and Heaven's Feel may look fancy but they suffer from overly dramatic fights and Long dialogues between battles. let's not forget the glowing eyes of every damn character

DAWN I wouldn’t say those are huge issues (they are extremely good for setting the mood and reeling people in( FSN, on the other hand, had done a terrible job with Shirou’s development, portraying him as a generic protagonist that really isn’t interesting to follow. Events/situations that seemed to have nothing to do with one another just pops out at the audience, ruining the pacing of the show and making viewers question how the heck these particular events occurred. Insanely cliche moments like Heracles having all his life’s wiped out in one shot (mind you, that was their second fight), a relationship between the revered King Arthur and the protagonist that many can’t stand, the arc where Sakura was captured by Medea without any real detailed explanation of the event or background, etc ... are just too many things to consider. Other complaints such as bad animation, character development, story telling, setting, etc ... made 2006 FSN a down turner for me.

No bull, this was the first song I used on my campaign for something called Personamon. It's basically a Persona x Pokémon fan project, thought of by yours truly, and it's as deep as you can guess, but not Berserk levels of dark. (Thank frakk.) The theme is moving on from the past, the five stages of grief, etc. This got used for the protag awakening, and my friends are impressed with the music choice. Never gonna make something that magical again, but hot Damn did it leave an impact! On an added note, the original Fate Stay/Night might not have been the best intro to the Fate series, but going after it in middle school while best buy is still relevant in my city was icing on the cake.
