People who thrash the DEEN anime need to remember it was made in 2006, on a standard budget, and has the burden of being the only fate anime that assumes you haven't watched any previous entry.

That whole part about assuming you've seen stuff before is probably my favorite. Zero assumes you know stay/night. UBW assumes you know either Zero or Fate route (can be taken from 06) HF is not to be watched at all without UBW Apo assumes you've seen one of the stay night adaptations Last Encore is also under the same assumption, but this time with the Fate/Extra game instead Let's not even get started on Babylonia, which demands you know FGO which in turn demands you know basic stay/night, but when it comes down to things you have to watch everything from Prisma Illya to Extella to Apocrypha to have the whole experience. That's why I wholeheartedly believe even to this day that this is the supreme first series for a Fate fan. It will provide the right route and right direction to what's next.

You understand the essentials, like FSN, many secondaries aspects are lore-knowledge nice to see when you are a fan, but useless to understand the scenario

@@garroshhellscream594 Well that is true, but you're not getting everything out of it, nor are you getting the context and the significance of many events that otherwise for a new watcher, seemed meaningless or dragged out. People only say "WATCH ZERO FIRST WATCH ZERO FIRST" because at the time, stay night was the only other anime, and it didn't offer much considering most of the nods Zero did referred to HF and UBW much more. Even when UBW came out, people still claimed to watch Zero first because no HF. Either way I just hope Fate route gets the justice of an anime it deserves. So the watch order is finally undebateable.

The Deen anime isn't spectacular. Compared to the other shows made by Ufotable it doesn't compare in my opinion but one thing it does absolutely right is the music. The Ufotable shows do have great soundtracks but it doesn't compare to a soundtrack composed by Kenji Kawai, the man who composed the Ghost in the Shell soundtrack way back in 1996 and his talent really shines here. Not only did he give us this but what, I think, is the definitive EMIYA theme, even more so than UBW(I love it though). Yes the Deen anime isn't good but the music is where it shines above all others.

It mixes with UBW but it doesn't really have anything from HF aside from Sakura being another grail and Tohsaka's sister, which IS a big deal but it could have been way worse, they could have tried adding Zouken and True Assassin or something. It's still Fate Route but with expanded content. I think the Caster arc is a matter of opinion, I loved it, it did justice to the character since she and Kuzuki got shortchanged in this route, and I loved the scene with Sakura and Rin, or when Kuzuki tells Shirou they're the same, it really makes Gilgamesh interrupting and killing them both more impactful than the original. It didn't really ruin it, as it's still the Fate Route, just with new arcs, they ruined the UBW route but they made Fate way more enjoyable than in the VN, my only complaint is that Saber vs Assassin was meaningless and unneeded and that Lancer got the short end of the stick in this show but, come on, Lancer always gets the short end of the stick

It did a good job in explaining and giving us more details about servants and all that good stuff. Also I really didn’t mind DEEN mixing the two other routes with saber route, I think the average viewer won’t really care about that problem.

Ufotable is all about shitty post fx, fast camera action and shiny filters + relying mainly on 3DCG (instead of only using it as last resort support). Everything to hide their lack of actual art skill and creativity. Their coloring is trash tier (gradient filling, seriously? you can't anything more cheap and disgusting) and (almost not existing) shading is just sad. Fate Zero was watchable. Anything after Zero is just painful to watch. Of course, you can like flashy and shiny 3D things. I hate something like this.

However I like it, Fate is my favorite route, Saber is my favorite female character of all time and Deen made a good job adapting few scenes: Saber's summoning, the fight between her and Shirou at the bridge, Taiga vs Saber at the Dojo and the final battle at Ryudo Temple.

is not the route itself but how it was adapted and mixed with the other two routes. The actual route in the VN was good but probably a little weak compared to the other two that had stronger themes, but still as the introduction route in the VN works perfectly but as the anime adaptation it stopped working as a good introduction to the series. Thats why people want a remake, there is no need to change that much from the original route in the VN only that it contains the important information and that can work as a good introduction.

By route they are obviously talking about the anime adaptation, hence why they said anime instead of visual novel...Also this was a vast improvement over the Fate route in all honesty. Gives much more characters development and a chance to shine and made it actually interesting by mixing in parts of the other two routes. And they did it without spoiling the details of UBW and HF (just throwing some really nice little hints here and there). So it still serves as a perfect introduction to the series.

Ufotable refuse to adapt fate route due to respect to studio deen who makes this franchise amazing(without deen, this franchise might not go this big like today). But I believe the reason why they refuse if because of the superior of OST fate route has that has adapated by Studio Deen! The OST is amazing but that's not the reason. DSN is(and was at the time of release) actually very well liked. I may criticize it a lot but given the time period and the fact that it was adapting an eroge this really was the best that could be done. At the time a Visual Novel having multiple adaptations for different routes was unheard. Plus I doubt DSN got a good budget. There are no excuses for Deen UBW though. Just shit

Literally ANY anime looks like DSN except Ufo works because they somehow managed to make it as gorgeous as they do today. The budget was small, no one even THOUGHT of 3 routes being adapted so they mixed them together to the best of their ability to grant all of the info without breaking the narrative of the main route that is Saber's. I believe in DEEN wholeheartedly because they made Konosuba and it's marvelous. That said, I don't mind a remake, even if by DEEN again, but one from Ufo would be even cooler. UBW movie was shit tho, yeah. They should've atleast made it a series, making it a SINGULAR movie was a fuckup beyond fuckups.

What happens to this route is so ironic, considering that it’s actually the anime that allowed Type-Moon and Ufotable to come this far with their Fate anime. Yet people still hate on it mainly because it doesn’t have ufos animations or mixing the routes or making Shirou look stupid or whatever else. I find it absurdly hilarious when someone who skips this route to watch UFOs fate calls themselves “Fate” fans. Well whatever the case, I still hope this route gets a remake(since it’s my favorite route) and it doesn’t need to be ufotable, studio Deen can handle it since it’s more reasonable that they brought it to us. Honestly I don’t really want ufotable to ruin the mystery and calm atmosphere that you get from Fate route. They should bring kawai Kenji back as well and keep Fate routes theme music like Kishi ou no Hokori and Unmei no Yoru, such simple and beautiful music. Fate routes music sticks to my head but Ufotables Fate music I literally don’t remember any of them except for Excalibur’s music and Emiya theme UBW. Hopefully Fate route gets remake with true ending animated.

Fate route and the later ones almost feel like different people wrote them it's kind of insane how much better everything is handled in the other two, the anime suffered a lot from cut content when Fate is the least technically powerful of the three.

Deen's Fate Stay Night (2006) perfectly captured the tone, atmosphere and the environment of the series with it's visuals and amazing soundtrack. The ufotable versions did not replicate it as much the 2006 one did. I like the other versions too, but people should just not ignore 2006 one, it's special in it's own way. Everyone should watch this route first and then move onto UBW and HF and Fate Zero.

@VatlerEmpire i would recommend to watch by this order which I followed Fate stay night - 2006 - deen version Unlimited blade works series - ufotable Heaven's Feel all 3 movies Fate Zero Lord El malloi-2 case files I wrote deen one first as compared to ufotable in terms of animation and pacing and direction it is obviously lacking but is not in any way bad. It is a good way to introduce oneself to the fate franchise and to know about the characters, the world building, the setting, and the atmosphere of the series which the deen version i would say did better than ufotable one. No need to watch the deen's UBW movie. And why i wrote Fate zero as the last is coz zero reveals a lot of info about the ubw series and HF movies which i think one should notbknow in order to properly enjoy them and that's why zero should be watched in the end. That's my take on it.

Personally, I think putting Fate/Zero first makes Kiritsugu's character feel more complete, as stay night presents Kiritsugu in a way that seems like his character arc was finally completed. Not knowing how Kiritsugu reached that point almost feels criminal

@@NurulAin-dt2co Fate series is divided in 3 routes, where the MC Shirou falls in love with three girls: Saber, RIn and Sakura. -You should start with "Fate/Stay Night UBW". (Rin route) -Then u can choose to watch "Fate/Stay Night" (the 2006 version and Saber route) or not, It is the one u've already watched with this amazing ost, but unfortunately the 2006 version is bad adapted (infact it was made by Deen Studio, which hadn't much budget that time and now the community is asking the new studio, which is the "Ufotable studio", much better than the Deen one, to remake this route) and the story is a bit confusing, but I love it just cuz it is the Saber route, my favourite character haha. -Then you can watch Fate/Zero and "Fate Heaven's feel" (sakura route), u can choose which one u wanna wathc firts above these two Fate/Zero explains the beginning of Fate Series, it narrates Emiya Kiritsugu's story and the 4th Holy Grail War. Fate Heaven's feel is composed by three films and it is the sakura route -After all of these u can Watch the spinoffs in any order, some of'em are really funny. Enjoy this amazing Fate universe!
