Same. I get chills just hearing it. Takes me back to Christmas day 1996 (I think) when I got my PS1. It came with Ridge Racer and Firestorm Thunderhawk 2. Got a bike too, but it was snowing so I stayed in playing the PS1. One of the top 3 best days of my entire life. Feel kinda sad for kids today who'll never experience these amazing games when they were revolutionizing the industry.

I'm currently playing this , it's a great game. I completed this when it was released 20 years ago ( 20 years? Wow ). I'm currently on the flying library monster and it's doing my head in. I shot it with everything I had and it didn't die but here it dies pretty easy, but at least I know it can be killed. I have forgotten a lot of this game and how I completed this back in the day without guides or KZbin I dont know. Great upload mate.👍💯⭐

i rember when i played this as a kid, in the beginning of the game i back track to some kind of a gate, a dead end. then suddenly there's a lightning and thunder, in the split second flash there was group of zombies appeared behind me (the camera was kinda reversed, so i was a bit far away, right in front of the gate and the zombies was right on in front of the screen), just for a split second. that SCARED the SHIT out of me and i cant forget it. i searched for this on youtube for some kind of glitch and i never found it.

This game made PS1 gaming days so memorable for me, it has all the elements that Resident Evil 2 had plus more... I was amazed by the graphics esp. the use of flash light, I've never seen that on games like this before. The sounds and music is top notch and the setting design made a very riveting but mysterious and unsettling atmosphere. The cover art is also great I think they got inspiration from "The Exorcist" movie.

Wow this game looks scary. I had a n64 and didn’t get PlayStation until ps2. At my age playing this I would have been totally scared the entire time. The ambience. The footstep sounds. The startling and eerie monster sounds and jump scares. The darkness. I haven’t played this but as a lifetime gamer I can tell this was terrifying at the time and basically the ability to create games like this in the modern day era is next to impossible

Summer of 2003. I bought the last issue of the Portuguese Official Playstation 1 Magazine (before it was rebranded as OPS2M). It came with a guide for this game, as requested by many readers apparentely. I didn't know a thing about Alone in the Dark, but the way they presented that guide (beautifully illustrated, lots of screenshots) literally sold me on the game. Bought it as soon as I could and it became an instant classic for me. It was hard as shit even with the guide though 😂. Thank you for this. Brings a lot a memories.

I remember having a Disc that was several demos of games to try. I tried out this game as a child, and I remember being super scared of the monsters. That skeleton dog thing running at you, and then those stupid sewer monsters in the water. Never beat the demo because it was nerve-wreaking. As an adult, I have played dead space, the outlast games, and several other suspense/horror games with no issue. Though, I remember when I first played outlast, I was engrossed in the atmosphere that a falling dead jump-scare caught me off guard and I had to pause for a few minutes, haha. I am going to have to download an emulator and play this game to the very end.
